Well I downloaded everything and waiting diligently while the patch applied itself. Now when I try to play the game I get an error message telling me the Witcher has to close, "Sorry for the inconvenience", then ctd. :(

@Hexenmeister RavenThanks for the tip. I've managed to finally download the lot and the game is busy doing its upgrade thing ;D Patience and perseverance are indeed needed for this particular update. The update process itself should be considered a quest!
