Did you say you installed SP2 after? That might be the cause of it. Software update your windows, then reinstall witcher and it might then work.

I figured what the problem was myself. My added RAM was creating all the problems. I removed my RAM and just left the 2GB Kingstons in there and now my game installed ok and saves are working great:D The game runs a lot more stable too. My OCZ RAMs are terrible. Maybe they didn't worth 13 bucks...
