Workaround works for me, running WinXP 64. I suppose it breaches some license agreement or other about redistribution of copyrighted files though, as usual, so sooner or later some representative of the powers-to-be will come complaining about it, but in the meanwhile, thanks a bunch :)

Hi all, I have a "little" showstopper with this bugger of a file...I downloaded the EE patch, installed (on the 2nd attempt, first time round didn't run the patcher in Win95 compatibility mode, which resulted in, as the FAQ said, failure...) and encountered the "d3dx9_35.dll is missing error". UPDATE: vpatch.exe is completely stuck trying to inject code in meshes00.bif and returning with error INSUFFICIENT RESOURCES (Process Monitor dixit)... so yeah, I'm screwed... well, thanks for pointing out the FAQ entry before I die of old age here :P

^^;No, I didn't, actually... Brilliant... Well, backup saves, kill process, uninstall and reinstall game, re-apply patch...No koala cubs were killed in the process, so it's all good :P

Well... QX6850 (OC'ed to 3.8 @ 415 fsb) and 4 GB DDR 830 MHz 3-3-3-7 CL1... must be that the patcher doesn't like XP64

LOL! 2 hours into the patching process... Blimey!Oh well... we will get there eventually :P

Well, I'm 10 mins into the update (slooooow... XD oh well, I suppose to keep the "weight" of the download as low as possible the patcher updates the code inside the files, ALA RTPatch, rather than including the whole file in the download...), I'm monitoring the operation and sniffing my ports...

Status update: The above statement is incorrect. Problem was, I never registered The Witcher, as it was a reinstall. Re-registered it, and was prompted by the installer to enter the community name and password. Installer validated credentials, and I'm updating "as we speak".

Downloaded files and attempting to install patch exits with error "Please register The Witcher before installing The Witcher Enhanced Edition - Actualization Patch" in the stage where the installer advices "Online Activation".So, my guess is that activation servers are not receiving requests at...
