If you do decide to play through TW1 again, it will make you feel fresh and ready for TW2. On the plus side, you will also get to see how your actions affect your TW2 experience. I really should find my TW1 copy and play through it again. ;)

I like the fact you don't get your weapons carried over. It adds challenge and makes you think about what you are doing in combat; making it more enjoyable overall. As for the arena, you progree as you kill enemies and you gradually level up. Did you play more than one round? :p @ the OP.

Don't worry about that one event ruining your ENTIRE TW2 experience. If you have finished TW1, you will love the sequel as it really ties a lot of loose ends together. Finishing TW really makes the TW2 experience 10x better and you will get a much deeper experience since you have that back...
