    Sound and EAX ( mss32.dll ) issues

In XP, I fixed this problem by turning down the hardware acceleration settings for sound. Go to the control panel, open the sound device icon, pick speakers, advanced, the performance tab, and drop it from FULL to STANDARD. Does that help?

    Vista - Crashing problem

Try turning down the hardware acceleration on your sound device. Fixes this problem in XP, anyway. From Control Panel, open the sound device, then speakers, then advanced, then the performance tab, and lower the hardware acceleration from FULL to STANDARD.
