Gta vs cyberpunk

Oh please, I could easily make a video showing how crappy San Andreas is compared to Cyberpunk. It's pretty damn easy to create your little confirmation bias video. And you fell for it. He made that video just for you lol. Ya got played.
So you have no argument.
Q: Have you even watched the video ?

Q:With which points you dont agree?

Please enlightenment me.

If GTA VI dropped tomorrow, nobody would play cybepunk and it would become a forgotten memory like anthem

the comparison is pointless. These are fundamentally different games, with fundamentally different goals. I find gta cities not to feel like an actual big city. They are made to accentuate different gameplay, and they appeal to different settings.

San Andreas is a more than 16 years old game :coolstory: , a "next gen " game from a big AAA company SHOULD have to be better than that.
You know its really bad when people compare your game with games from 16, 18 years ago.
The joke is that those games are much more advanced in many open world mechanics.
That should not be possible. But it is.

no games are mire advanced in platforming than megaman 8. no games are more advanced in fighting than streetfighter alpha 3. no game is more advanced in tactics/strategy than chess/go. Games don't work this way.

Cyberpunk is filling the void of crackdown. It's basically what crackdown was to GTA. A similar futuristic sandbox game to pass the time.

What type of setting requires cops to teleport behind player back? Unless we are talking about star trek games, where they do have teleporters.
that only matters to you if you care about cops, I don't play cyberpunk to kill pedestrians

They are both open world games with shooting and driving mechanics in modern technological worlds, a city with outskirts. Both with police systems. Both have a main story in which you find NPCs that give u quests.

Q: So why can one not compare them ?
Please explain.

for you it is. That is not actually the niche the game is trying to fill. Its not a crime/cop game

the focus of gta is to be a criminal, who steal cars as a focus, I would expect it have better police/crime systems and driving mechanics/cars/car combat

the focus of cyberpunk is RPG in scifi dark future. You are RPing a mercenary/bounty hunter

the city of night city is extremely more engaging for me. Gta seems faker

Everyone who compares GTA to CP and trashes it focuses on aspects of open world and some physics. EVERYONE. Nobody talks about questlines, story/writing and gameplay, in all of which rockstar games are very subpar.

To me it goes like that:

Rockstar games: All flash - zero substance (except some emotional overtones in RDR stoylines)
CDPR games: Some flash - some substance (alot more substance in the witcher games, but generally good ratio. We need some flash here and there)
From Software games: No flash - all substance (mostly)

That's just my opinion obviously, but i stand strongly about it.

Saints row 2 was awesome when it first came out. I liked the fact that you could have many AI homies. In one edition, a real porn star, could be your homie. I think it was tara patrick or something.

They are different games but share some common mechanics. GTA V succeeded in everything it was trying to do whilst Cyberpunk 2077 failed in every aspect. With so many faults in the mechanics they become highlighted for the player and therefore makes for great comparison with other games. It also helps that none of these faults are subjective, in combination with CDPR's statements of the game being "next-gen", turns the whole spectacle into a comedy that at least produces some amusement for the players that waited years for the game's release. The comparison makes evident that Cyberpunk is not next-gen which also highlights CDPR's excuses for it not working on last gen consoles. I think most players would have been happy with RDR2 graphics for PS4 and XBOX ONE as long as the game functions. Even so there is nothing special about the graphics of Cyberpunk 2077, and more so when it comes to world building.
