    Baldur's Gate III

BG3 has one of the best soundtracks ever. DOS2's soundtrack is just THAT good.

If you think there is going to be a big, modern game studio that does not dip into things like this then you are sadly mistaken. Rockstar only hasn't done it because they were able to milk GTA Online for a ton of money... and I would not be surprised to see a GTA Mobile tie in to the new title...

Finally tried the game (2.1) - if this is what passes as immersive world building, then I am Hideo Kojima

... I mean next gen is often referring to the next generation of hardware. And a lot of that is around processing power to both make games look better and be able to permit them to accomplish more. So the game looking better has a lot to do with their statement and the next generation. As an...

Finally tried the game (2.1) - if this is what passes as immersive world building, then I am Hideo Kojima

CDPR and Rockstar make wildly different games, with completely different team sizes and entirely different budgets. I can almost guarantee Orion will have better writing, story and by the time it comes out (2-4 years after GTA6) it will have superior graphics. At least graphically when it comes...

I don't even disagree with the two points he responded with. I agree the economy in the game is out of whack and I'm not a big fan of level scaling. But I find CDPR games to be pretty immersive as far as video games go. I think Night City itself is pretty amazing and they write better...

I'm curious what the person who started the thread thinks. I don't even necessarily disagree with the things that they are saying. But I am just curious what games do a great job with immersion if Cyberpunk does not.

Can you give some examples of games that you think do a good job with world building? I'm genuinely curious and would be interested to dive into them to see if they outdo Cyberpunk in this department.

Why does this lame fixer system still exist in this game?

I enjoyed Cyberpunk and Phantom Liberty - but the fixer system was one of my least favorite parts of the game. That is until Phantom Liberty and Hands, which they did a great job with, IMO. Going from The Witcher 3 to Cyberpunk one of my first reactions to the game was "This is the side content...

Wouldn't shock me if they did something like this. Phantom Liberty had a way different feel than the base game, IMO.

Yup - this is what I think too. Either completely remove lifepaths if they are going to be what they were in 2077 - or make them something special. You can take the BG3 approach where you give a ton of dialogue options and some alternative outcomes because of it. Or you could do some stuff like...

Or maybe it is just establishing her as a major character in the story and in Geralt's life, given that she wasn't in the previous two games and the idea of her as a romantic interest was foreign at that point since things were very Triss-centric... and you are just reading into it too much...

I'm not going to get into it over what the best game of the year is as some people may not have it being BG3. But almost every outlet has BG3 as game of the year and it dwarfs just about every other game besides maybe TotK in fan reviews on just about every major site. If it isn't your game of...

Not sure I agree with the gore being toned down in God of War games. The new ones are pretty brutal and over the top with the finishers and stuff like that, haha. But I do agree with this. Games do not need sex to be good or to be mature. A lot of my favorite games have nothing or very little...

Maybe one of the major selling points for some people with The Witcher 3 is that you can romance attractive women. So what? I personally never liked romance in video games before The Witcher 3 and I enjoyed it in that game because I thought all of the romance options were well written and fit...

Here is a list of random stuff that I would prefer: One that seems easy is just more clothing options for companions/major characters. When you see Panam one day and an entire 24 hours passes it would be nice if she had a different outfit on, assuming your quest with her is not sleeping...

Who is saying it needs to be a 'porn game'? The Witcher 3 had more sex and relationships in it than the hyper-sexualized world of Cyberpunk 2077. Was The Witcher 3 a "porn game"?
