yeah I'd like to see some sort of ranged weapon -- maybe not a bow, but a thrown axe or dagger.

[ACT I] Where do I find a torch?

@Lee: LOL! I've been playing RPGs long enough to know THAT! :) There are games in which this sort of thing is penalized, but I don't know what they are. Certainly not Witcher!

[ACT II] Tip for Coccacidium and Wyverns (spoilers)

ooh, good one. I don't recall seeing a place of power in teh swamp, though, and I'm pretty sure I've been through the whole thing. Do you remember where it is? I saw the Quen sign place in the cave, but that's all I recall.

[ACT II] Tip for Coccacidium and Wyverns (spoilers)

well, the plant I managed to kill was evidently not the Cocca, because it just popped up again as I was trying to escort Gramps to his destination. It kicked my ass several times -- it gets me down so fast! I tried popping Swallow, Tawny Owl and Bindweed -- none of it seemed to help. I managed...

[ACT II] Tip for Coccacidium and Wyverns (spoilers)

I ran into the damn thing last night, right outside the cave where I got Quen, and I'll be damned if I didn't kill the thing! It went down surprisingly easy -- I hit it with two or three close-range Igni blasts, and I was lucky enough to get 'Incinerate' on at least two of those hits. Woot!

[ACT II] Tip for Coccacidium and Wyverns (spoilers)

somewhere in thisd thread another person mentioned that they were avoiding the plant's missiles by using the Avoid Missiles bronze talent. I checked my Dex tree last night and I already have that, but I'm still getting his all the time by the plan'ts missiles. Argh!

[ACT II] Tip for Coccacidium and Wyverns (spoilers)

does Gramps ever get killed by anything? Or is Geralt able to keep the aggro of everything hostile? I'm wodering if I should go kill the damn plant and THEN go back for gramps.

[ACT II] Tip for Coccacidium and Wyverns (spoilers)

I wonder what I've been doing wrong, then -- I've been hitting it with Igni and it hasn't seemed to do anything. I get the lightshow for it and nothing else. The plant's health bar doesn't go down any. I'll modify my tactics somewhat, using the suggestions given here. Thanks!

[ACT II] Tip for Coccacidium and Wyverns (spoilers)

There's a plant monster in the swap -- one of theose stationary guys like the Echinops, but it colored red and has a name like "Cicciopteryx" or something that I'm not remembering properly. I encounter it when I'm taking Gramps to the shrine, right after the two mutilated body objects. How do I...

How does one use the chargeup? Hold down the right mouse button instead of just pressing it? I keep forgetting about that.

[ACT I] Damn Echinops in the cave

@Elveloz: yeah, that finishing move surprised the hell out of me, too, the first time I saw it! I laughed like a loon. One of the best finishing moves ever :)Now I have an axe, though, that I chose because it does more damage. Are there any axe finishing moves?

[ACT I] Damn Echinops in the cave

who cares what style is used, so long as the monsters are dead? It's not like there are a thousand styles to choose from -- there's only three. What I'd like to know is this: Is there any call whatsoever for Geralt's other weapons, other than the steel and silver swords?

true enough -- but there's a difference between "keeping it friendly" and censoring information that was asked for out of innocence and ignorance. It's not a big deal; I'm hardly upset or questioning the mods -- I just thought it was a little odd.

    Moral choices in The Witcher

From what little I've seen of the racial interactions in The Witcher (I am part way through Act II), I'd say that the elves are well within their right to conduct geurilla warfare against the humans. They're justified in their "acts of terrorism," if you will. Why? The humans won the war...

    Welcome Thread [Archive]

true enough -- I did ask, not knowing any better. You COULD have sent me a private message, but ... at any rate, no harm done on my part. I am kind of curious to know why there is such a ... ban on swearing here in the forums when The Witcher itself is an M rated game that has a lot of swearing...

    Moral choices in The Witcher

sure -- I can see people who are very much Lawful Good doing this (the siding with Order thing), as well as people who are racists or who feel themselves vastly superior to others in some way. I don't get that, I don't understand it, but I recognize that some people are that way.
