It's super dead, just like that nearly 10 years old post you quoted

What game are you currently playing

Nearing the end of my second run (NG+) of Sekiro. This time i'll do one of the really good endings.

What game are you currently playing

Nearing the end of Sekiro, my first From Software game. I got the appetite for punishment after completing Jedi Survivor on the highest difficulty. Died a shitload to the first real boss I encountered (Lady Butterfly), everything else was comparatively easy. As in - I'd still sometimes hammer my...

[SPOILER] - Share your screenshots - General video games

The fake credit roll was fantastic. Afer a few seconds the credit text turns into the Hiss gibberish and then the screen gets all distorted.

[SPOILER] - Share your screenshots - General video games

I just recently finished Control (also played it for the first time) and its expansions. I loved the look and the atmosphere. For a game that plays completely indoors, it had great variety and some really impressive vistas. Also the story was my kind of thing. Totally weird, but to me the good...

Wait, isn't Oblivion already a few years older, something like 17?

    The Jigsaw Puzzle Thread

I like doing a jigsaw puzzle from time to time, we even framed one and put it on the kitchen door. I'll try to find a picture.. Here it is: As expert jigawists you can surely tell that the slate background was challenging, as were the different heaps of reddish spices. But the spoons were...

Ah yes, I remember the scaling tests. AMD's out of the box settings on the Ryzen 7000 (non-X3D) are plain silly, but everything to squeeze out a few more points of performance for the benchmarks.

You're running a R9 7950X alongside, right? My 5800X3D with CO -30 on all cores is pretty lightweight in comparison. My current games are around 50W, 80W tops for the whole CPU. If I end up playing a game which really puts full load on the CPU and GPU, I might still get into trouble.

    Building a gaming PC

Got my hands on a 'cheap' 7900 XT (600€), so I pulled the trigger. My 500W PSU is now living on the edge  I'm running undervolted settings on my CPU and GPU though, so it's within limits apart, probably, from very short power spikes, for which every (good) PSU has some reserves. So far I...

What game are you currently playing

Dark Messiah set the basis for my love of Arkane games. After another round with Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider, it's now Deathloop time for me.

    Building a gaming PC

Well. Assuming scheduling was completely random, the 7950X3D should probably still have a slight advantage - one CCD will yield the same performance as those on the 7950X. The other will do somewhat worse in some tasks and up to (completely theoretical upper limit) +~200% faster, if everything...

    Building a gaming PC

Exactly this. Thread scheduling will have to *know* which thread to put on which CCD, or even put it where at which *precise time* for this to yield the optimal possible performance.

    Building a gaming PC

Well that's just the normal progression of things. Regarding the Zen4 X3D lineup: it's pretty wild. The 7800X3D is a straightforward successor to the 5800X3D, but the 7900X3D and 7950X3D are some Frankenstein stuff. One core chiplet with added v-cache, one without, but with ~15% higher max...

KotOR II for the umpteenth time. Apparently it's been 5 or 6 years since my last run

Games that made you cry? [SPOILERS]

Street Fighter II on Game Boy Advance. Made kid-me hit my head against the GBA in a fit of rage, which, unsurprisingly, destroyed the display.

    Witcher 2"Crash"

Random crashes at startup/saving or randomly ingame point to a system instability problem rather than the game itself. Startup and saving are occasions with increased CPU power draw, which might trigger a protection mechanism of the power supply. Especially suspicious that it was fine with an...

    Favorite companion from any game?

This is a very very hard question. Love my KotOR(II) sassy/murdery rustbuckets T3M4 and HK47. But then most if not all of KotORII's companion's are great in their own ways - i mean you could totally optionally train all the human(oid)s as Jedi, if you had enough influence over them, how damn...
