You may want to try to run it as administrator and see what happens. But you really should have opened a new topic for this IMHO.

That is an option too, but it is always harsh to lose your progress, no matter what. I, myself, would definitely do that because for me an RPG is about building my own character but after a sad event like this it is only natural for someone to try to recover things first.

I think I am a bit too late with this, but there are tools out there that can recover deleted files for you. I remember using one a long time ago when I accidentally deleted some of my files. This method cannot guarantee 100% accuracy but it is worth a try in some cases. Maybe next time. :)
