Why should that matter in NG+? If we have the cards, that obviously means we completed the related quest in the original game.

I saw you have posted this response in two threads. Did you have to do anything to get him to leave the cage? Did you travel to Skellige and back to Velen to make this happen? Mine is still locked in a cage so if you could elaborate that'd be awesome :)
