    When asked about this on stream, Pawel said it's because there are moments in the game where the scenery or gameplay is intentionally supposed to be dark and having the flashlight on would ruin that. I mean he's not wrong.

    I hate to say it but one benefit of live service games is that devs quickly address both bugs and unpopular features. Meanwhile here in Cyberpunk we're forced to use mods to fix crappy design choices because the devs think they know better than us.
