Yeah I find the most fun (if not most efficient) way to play is to work on your own deck ideas, gradually refining them. Only kicker being you'll realise once you refine one that it's probably similar to another deck top players are already using, because there really are only so many combos...

Not been enjoying Arena mode personally, wins and losses felt pretty empty and so RnG riddled. The game already included an unhealthy level of RnG as it was and this mode has just exacerbated that imo. Happy for anyone who is enjoying it but it's not where I'll be spending a lot of time.
