Why is Gwent so poorly run?

I took a look out of curiosity, doesn't it say that on Q1 2020 they had a net loss?

Please, No More Expansions until the game is balanced and bugs free

Balancing a game to perfection is impossible and not what they are looking for, old gwent felt way more consistent and that's not what they wanted anymore with the update. Aside from that, with LoR around the corner, stopping the dev cycle and having the game become stale again would make them...

Legends of Runeterra (Amazing new card game)

The low amount of cards that deal damage without counterplay make every game interesting till the end. You can usually manage even a low health pool and turn it into a win.

Any of the original beta players still playing Gwent?

I don't see exactly what's wrong with that. It came down to your ability to create decks flexible enough to get an opportunity to win. People brewing their own decks were rewarded for it for being unpredictable too, making viable the creation of tons of variations around a same archetype...

    Didn't sound like it

Any of the original beta players still playing Gwent?

If you consider the core the name of the game, It's still called Gwent for some reason, yeah.

    What happened to Homecoming?

Hearthstone suffered from the mobile version too. When the first 'coop' mode came, they said that 2v2 was not possible because it wouldn't fit on a mobile screen. Seems like Gwent is not heading the same direction.

Any of the original beta players still playing Gwent?

I bought the cards because of the whole product. They are not selling cards in a vacuum just because they look pretty, they are selling the witcher theme and gameplay mechanics and a competitive mode and progression And you buy all that in the shape of cards. If anyone thought the mechanics...

Wheel of fortune is bad for the game

We've come a full circle, I'm saying here that I find understandable that other people might not like RNG as much as you. Even if its one card.

Wheel of fortune is bad for the game

At that point that's just an opinion. That's where I wanted to get with the first comment in here, I find pretty normal that other people might not like the same things you do in the game.

Wheel of fortune is bad for the game

Cards should be judged considering the current context of the game. In vacuum we can't really tell if it's a positive or negative addition.

Any of the original beta players still playing Gwent?

There, I put the whole conversation so you can understand where I came from. There are many card games and what matters is how you play it. So far I see that "my" cards were changed drastically, and so did the gameplay and the visuals. It may be fine for you, but man, this is not the product I...

Wheel of fortune is bad for the game

I think that's pretty clear that there's more randomness/less consistency than in old gwent, not in this expansion, in general. Now, whether you like it or not is a matter of taste, but I think that it's pretty understandable what they are saying.

Any of the original beta players still playing Gwent?

That's far from how hearthstone works. The same way in MTG there's a rotation, in HS cards rotate out of the "standard" game mode into the "wild" game mode only. You can still play all the cards the same and it's a fully featured mode with a ranked ladder by itself. The content and core of the...

Wheel of fortune is bad for the game

I think that the point is that Gwent is becoming a game where luck is more of a factor now than it should be. That's a pretty understandable opinion.

Any of the original beta players still playing Gwent?

Honestly I am more afraid about the precedent this creates. A company changed significantly the core of the game disregarding the money invested by players who enjoyed the past version. One could argue that everyone got value out of their money, but I don't think that customers expected to have...

    And GWENT is uninstalled... sadly

Just to keep track of this since gogstats doesn't offer any kind of historic data: November - december 2018 popularity rank: 2771 February 2019 popularity rank : around 2900 Current popularity rank : 3093 It recently went up 100 positions (from 3193), probably an upcoming expansion or...

A good ol' Thronebreaker switcheroo, but now going back to the game roots for real

    And GWENT is uninstalled... sadly

In the end, we just entered a new beta after so much work done on the older version. Tuning to the same point will take years again. Even the graphics part is questionable for me. It might look "cooler", but I value clarity over trying to look fancy on a card game. Also, with the wooden board...

    And GWENT is uninstalled... sadly

That's exactly what happened to me. When HC came around I was so excited to get all those scraps and to play a ton of new decks and look for synergies. After a few weeks I realized that I didn't go through half of my scraps, I played the witchers on almost every deck because it was hard to make...
