just thought I'd say it didn't work, uninstalled 4.5 (which is basically 4.0), reinstalled 4.0, uninstalled a bunch of things that might've interfered but nothing worked, and in the other thread where some people had problems with .dlls in their syswow folder I didn't have either of those...

probably cuz I turned it off in the mobo settings actually, so I'm gonna go into the bios turn it on then try to uninstall that software thanks for all the help

lol ok, well I'll keep trying to find it I guess, but I tried downloading and installing it just to uninstall it and it wouldn't let me because I don't have a sandybridge gpu....

is it worth uninstalling the game and using my gog version to see if it works?

the virus thing didn't find anything, and I don't have any of those programs, all I have is MSI afterburner, but I tried closing it and still got the error

I upgraded my CPU, Motherboard and RAM at christmas and the last time I played this game was like June 2011 on my old setup, but I don't think I have any of those programs listed :/ either way I downloaded the bitdefender trial and I'll see what happens thanks for the fast reply btw
