[GENERAL] Witcher swords - discussion & questions

Following the pattern of Rune swords it seems to me CD Projekt made at least three mistakes, maybe four.1. The SSS looks like an SSSM sword since it also has +15% sensitivity to silver. Why would anyone forge an SSM sword instead of an SSS?2. The EES and ESS swords look reversed in all effects...

    The Witcher and Feminism

If Witcher 2 gets developed, maybe they could name one of the female NPCs Melirinda. :)

Any modders or mod teams already ready to rumble?

I've uploaded a couple utilities that other modders may find useful while waiting for the SDK to arrive. If you are not comfortable using a GFF editor or the command line, you may want to wait for more polished tools. BIFRip : This utility extracts all the resources from the BIF files.WitchSav...

[GENERAL] Witcher swords - discussion & questions

I helped with the extractions but Jon at Gamebanshee is a tireless guy and spent a good amount of time formatting the data just so.

Any modders or mod teams already ready to rumble?

If anyone wants to play around with editing their savegames and is willing to use a GFF editor, you can try out WitchSav to expose Geralt's .utc for editing and repacking. If you need a GFF editor, you can pick up KGFF from the same site in the KotOR section. Edit: I've also added command line...

    The Witcher and Feminism

Good post. I hadn't considered it in that way before but it rings true. It's not necessary to get hung up on the direct comparisons of Geralt and James Bond. The point is that they're both embodiments of male "id". Agreed. Women playing The Witcher will experience a primal male viewpoint. Pity...

    Game guides

There is an English wiki project underway here.I've uploaded an ingredients list in CSV format to it. Comes in handy when you're looking for a missing hydragenum+nigredo in the swamp.

I'm actually more interested in filling in the gaps that the toolset will not provide.

Loading times issue - solution coming

That's is great to hear and I'm glad a solution was found that made significant differences. From a technical aspect, can you comment on how loading occurs in v1.1 vs v1.2? What was the key to making the improvement? Feel free to be as detailed as you like. I enjoy hearing about optimizations. :)

The Witcher Wiki - english version

You're good people. :) Also, if any of the devs would like to fill in the blanks on the file formats *cough* TheWitcherSave header *cough*, I'll buy you a ham sandwich and a Redanian Lager at the Hairy Bear.

The Witcher Wiki - english version

Hi Ausir,Thank you also for that. I've posted the file format info on your site as well. With more eyes, I hope some of the unknowns will start getting filled in. I don't know what to expect from the Djinni toolset, but I doubt it will include a savegame editor which is something I'm interested in.

The Witcher Wiki - english version

I was looking for a place to post the file formats of this game. Thank you for setting this up Firehawk. I'm a newbie when it comes to Wiki editing, Could you add a link to the main page to a "Witcher File Formats" page that is editable?

    People using Cheats?

Please come down from your high horse. Posting information about cheating destroys nothing. If someone chooses to cheat, that is their prerogative. If that's how they enjoy playing their SP game, it is no one else's place to judge them. Advertising non-freeware on the forums, well that's another...
