Game registration - problems and solutions here

I installed The Witcher on to my new laptop. I went to register the game so that I could install the patches, and I'm being told "Can't use this feature, have to be logged in, enable cookies." Something along those lines. There's a few problems with this.- It's telling me to enable cookies for...

Enhanced Edition installation problems and solutions

SO far, I'm downloading the 1.4 patch, the language file, and the Side Effects chapter. That's all I need, right? The patch includes "Price of Neutrality?"Also, is there anywhere else I can go other than the rather lackluster mirror provided on this site to download the files?

    [ACT V] Killing the Koshchey

Beat it to death with Stong Silver. I use Albedo as the secondary for all my potions except Swallow (Nigredo) you might want to try that.Use Aard to knock him down and to give yourself some breathing room.

[EPILOGUE] Ending cutscene / cinematic discussion

No.Alvin is the Grand Master. Done. There are no more "perfect" mutants. The Greater Brothers were the "perfect" mutants, the monster journal entry and the GM himself both state this. The assassin from the cutscene isn't a Salamandra/Grand Master mutant, but another witcher from another school- I...

    [GENERAL] Ingredients and Potions discussion

I'm gonna brew up about ten each of the Zerrikanian Sun and Dragon's Dream grenades, so I don't want to buy just one or two powders at a time. Which grenades are you partial too? Also, is the effect "Fear" any decent? If so, I'll use the five billion piles of Stammelford's dust thr game throws at...

How did you find out about The Witcher game?

I h adbeaten Bioshock, so I was on GameFaqs looking for new games to download.I didn't feel like messing with the 1:1 copies, so I decided to just buy it. Doesn't mean Tages is going to stop me from making a perfect copy, though, seeing as how it's possible, and I'm not going to be scratching my...

I love how every board has that one guy who thinks that if he doesn't act like everyone else, he'll nail all the chicks in a given thread.

Petition to CDProject concerning game's system requirements check at start up

I dropped 2000$ on a laptop to play top-of-the-line games better than my desktop can.I don't need a check telling me if I can play this game. I can read the requirements well enough.

Game priority and Dual core affinity fix (Performance gain)

You also might want to go over to MSConfig and turn everything off. Granted, you'll have to write down what you normally would have on (I spent hours wading through Services in order to find what I needed, so I know I'd need to write them down at least), and do the Priority bit. Granted, you'll...

Tired of the Witcher? Play Crysis!

Bioshock and F.E.A.R. are miles better than HL2, in my opinion. Granted, I didn't get too far in HL- mainly because the gunfights consisted of "stand and shoot" rather than "Peek and cover" like in F.E.A.R.. I also love the story to Bioshock, and actually felt in that game- I haven't done that...

    [ACT I] the beast help

Pure force of will.Last night, I fought and lost to the beast about eight or nine times. Today, I loaded up an old save so that I could level and save some of my potions.Getting to the Beast, I used Blizzard, Swallow, and any other potion I could without killing myself. I go to fight the Beast...
