As for the the language option, I got that figured out as well. The language slider was originallly set to English (probably picked up from the culture info of my PC) but the subtitles were in Czech (probably from the game). I had to change the slider to Czech to get it in sync with the game...

Apparently patch 1.4 has updated Miles Sound System libraries, but somehow MSS32.DLL was not updated hence the instability, and BINKW32.DLL is updated too since the game will freeze if only the newer MSS32.DLL is used.After this you can get SOUND ACCELERATION back on maximum setting -This works...

That works! Thanks a lot. Still having to have the EAX turned off, and the subtitles are showing in Czech despite having the option set to English but at least I can play the game. Thanks again.

I am getting the Microsoft general error when launching the game. I got latest updates for Windows and ATI X800 card. I am thinking about reinstalling the game and redownloading the patch. Unless someone has a better idea should I apply each patch or can I go directly to 1.4 after the reinstall?

Since it is Firday it probably would be better to enable the download as soon as possible, just in case there are any issues so it does not affect your weekend. Have your best interests in mind, you know... :evil:

I'd like to know this as well. Same situation European (Czech) version in the USA. Will I be able to download on the 16th or the 19th. Don't mind waiting just would like to know if I should get up early tomorrow :-)Also could someone please post the url from where the download will be available...

Thanks for the response that is what I was looking for: the censorship is key cdkey based not based on donwloading location of the EE.

I would play the game in English, since it seems that only the English and German voice overs were re recorded. If it means having to put up with censorship though...

On Censorship:I have the Czech (unscensored) version but live in the USA. When I donwload the EE will that change the "censhorship setting" of the game? Hope there are not any schenanigans based on where you are downloading from.

Has the Czech version been improved though (traslation and voices)?
