    [ACT I] town portals?

I know what you mean, though haven't got there yet. Out of topic: figured out how those pylons work, first time on my own hide - fortunately i had 400 hp by that time, so didn't rest in piece, instead tried that on a nearby fauna, that was funny, especially with bloodsuckers. And back on...

[ACT I] how to use specter oil??

Might add, you can only apply oils to swords, not to any other weapons (even a dagger).

[ACT I] Should I not use Aard?

Yeah, cooler, but some kind of humiliating for such great adversaries to be killed in a matter of seconds Show some respect! ;) Personally I prefer to enjoy such battles a little bit longer. Especially when most battles with ordinary enemies are so short to not even have the chance to see the...

[ACT I] In and out of different areas

Swamp is there also, yet it's "another" swamp already. This game is story driven, so with the plot the world changes and the places you visit.

    [ACT I] town portals?

I noticed, that often it starts raining when you reload. But then it awfully hard to get it back with no rain.

[ACT II] Need eternal fire ring once I'm in Act 2?

So am I. And also a bookworm. I'm keeping all the books that i got my hands on, although I fear i'll need to sell them, as there is not so much space in storage. Besides, you don't have an opportunity to make a nice looking library, as it is in Morrowind/Oblivion.

[ACT I] Should I not use Aard?

I've done all the quests before fighting the Beast (well, all that I could have done) and was around the middle of the ninth level, had no problems in fighting it even without aard or blizzard. Spectre oil was enough to send it back to hell in a few strikes. So i'm with mardana on this one ;)

[ACT I] Have trouble with fighting - any tips?

Or hearing the distinctive slash sound. Or, better yet, by appropriate timing. Though it could be hard at first. For example, silver sword has different timings from steel one, in that it has a bit longer pauses between last strike in one sequence and the first in the next. So, when I've got...

[ACT I] She's no early Bird (Vesna)

I was doing Vesna's quest in parallel with lighting the shrines, but completed it earlier (that is, I placed four candles while escorting Vesna then placed the last one after that quest was over). Next evening I hadn't yet done Strangers in the Night, so there was no Nadir by that time, then, I...

[ACT I] Should I not use Aard?

Killing the Beast is rather easy even without aard. At least on medium setting, which I'm unfortunately playing on. It's just a matter of using the right approach. That is the case with every tough opponent, I suppose.I'm using Aard from time to time just out of fun or to watch those neat...

[ACT I] Where can I find a torch for the crypt?

Most of the time you have more than enough monsters to replenish you ingredient reserves. And speaking of torches, they not only awkward, but also have much smaller area of effect.

[ACT I] Beggar who wants booze

And anybody tried to give him a drink at the beginning of chapter. Maybe he will tell something, that otherwise we already know? Though I doubt that - Why am I talking to a hologram?- Who knows. My mother is talking to her cat.

[ACT I] Beast riddles? (Spoilers maybe)

No, it's more likely white honey. De Vries you've got later on, in the second chapter. 2Maarten: no, you don't need anything at all to see the Beast appearing from time to time, neither cat, nor De Vrie. Still, I was thinking after I've read Berengar's notes, that maybe the Beast follows you all...

[ACT I] Beast riddles? (Spoilers maybe)

The only thing is that the barghests got distracted by villagers and you may concentrate on fighting the Beast alone. Besides, don't need to care if those bastards got killed in the process(I mean the men, not the dogs). As for the answer, it's not Abigail OR the villagers. Geralt says to her...

[ACT I] She's no early Bird (Vesna)

Also she speaks, that will soon become a grandgrandma. So i'm assuming Vesna is alive. :) Besides, there is another door in her grandma's house, that is locked and what is beyound, is unknown. After the battle with the Beast, all houses in the town (save for Reverend's, of course ) are...

[ACT I] Mikul is not there - Can't enter Vizima...?

I think, he haven't yet talked to Mikul, so he most likely is standing at the merchant's gate. As for printscreen, for me it is working in XP, but not in Vista. Think, that's due to the whole new video driver model in Vista. And no, fraps is not free. It's a closed source shareware. But it's...
