I had thought the patched changed this. And yes Harvall is still at the wyvern island in chapter 2 after the patch. I've played the whole game with it patched up.

I recently deleted the demo uninstalled then reinstalled thefull game patched it then restarted my game. Then I was able to get through millers gate. Thats what I would recommend doing, going through it again doesn't take nearly as long as the first time. You can breeze through it.
