Are you running RAID setup with 10K disks or what? :)Half an hour on my machine too, disk is 500 GB WD with several mostly empty partitions.

Windows XP - crashing ( not sound related )

Try turning off or disabling everything which does real-time protection and memory/process scans. Patching huge files is both memory and hard drive intensive operation, I remember initial problems with Neverwinter Nights 2, which also patches it's huge data files...

Windows XP - crashing ( not sound related )

Just hit F3 on file using Total Commander, press 3 to switch to hexadecimal view and you'll se whether all bytes are zero or not.Looks like patcher (which actually patches files) corrupts them, make sure you do absolutely nothing while the game is patching, and the working partition is in decent...

Windows XP - crashing ( not sound related )

Actually, the game does launch all the videos, you can hear audio component, you can see the subtitles (if you turned them on in options), but the area which should display video is simply empty (not "dead black empty", but little brighter black, indicating that binkw32 decoder is active at the...

[ENHANCED EDITION] - Where do I download it free?

You must put both TWEE_Upgrade and language pack in the same folder, and run TWEE_Upgrade.

Windows XP - crashing ( not sound related )

No, because I deleted backup DLLs as soon as I got this working, and no way I'll spend another 2 hours reinstalling and patching the game again.Maybe someone else can give it a try only with binkw32.dll.

[ENHANCED EDITION] - Where do I download it free?

Well, I had to replace two game DLLs with the newer versions to get the game working (it crashed at startup with DLLs suppled with patch), so I do blame developers.Check the topic about non-sound related crashes in Tech room, I posted links for DLLs.

Windows XP - crashing ( not sound related )

I tried to replace Witchers mss32.dll with the latest DLL from Bink site, and it still crashes at startup (but at least I see game cursor for couple of seconds). However, this thing worked: I launched the game and keeped hitting ESC to skip all .bik videos, and I successfully got to main menu...

[ENHANCED EDITION] - Where do I download it free?

Thanks Captain Obvious, didn't recognize you! :)If any of developers visit this forum, I'm just asking for an offline version of patch to be released in the future (something like a year or so).

[ENHANCED EDITION] - Where do I download it free?

Why does this upgrade require an active internet connection? :(Yeah, I know everybody has internet access these days, but what if I want to play this in, like, 10 years and the registration servers are shut down?I know it is protection system which should suppose to stop spreading this patch...
