I don't know if there is any sort of solution for the problem I have as I have searched the Internet but to no avail. I'm using the latest patch 1.07 and for whatever reason, I can't seem to get the "trigger" to start the sidequest, where Geralt is supposed to smell a stench which you follow...

Oh and I've been witnessing some graphical glitches/hiccups where I see the sky and some parts in the environment flicker really quickly. Don't know what's that about as I never witnessed anything like that before the latest patch - 1.07 - but it definitely is noticeable when it does happen.
