Are you sure this isn't just the frame cap? We've traded a few frames per second for even frame pacing. A lower framerate won't appear as sharp unless the camera is stationary. Screenshots look the same as v1.01. No effects missing. Same framebuffer resolution and textures.

PS4 is pretty straight forward unlike PS3. Performance optimizations will keep coming with the updates. A few tweaks to the worst affected areas would make a big difference.

The analog stick now has different behaviours for increasing and decreasing deflection. Smooth out, steps and pauses in. Still, much better than Xbox v1.01.

There are some issues with camera control and the horse walking/trot animation that produce stutters without frame rate dips. You can rule those out if your not moving the camera or on horse.

Some of those comparisons are ridiculous. Especially The Witcher 2 to 3 one with the huge open world in the background, and complaining about the lack of dynamic light while not casting Igni. Some are right, others time of day exaggerated.

Merchant is still trapped? The inventory has slowed a bit, but I imagine I'll get around that by selling some read notes/letters/books, instead of hoarding them like I have been doing. Also #5. That happens a lot if you sprint up to merchants or any NPC you can interact with I've noticed...

Not really, but it sure runs a heck of a lot smoother now. It went from being almost unplayable to pretty smooth. Haven't noticed any visual changes except the major improvement to motion from the frame rate cap. I can at least appreciate the visuals now. Before Before Updated to 1.03 After...

The stutters only show up when you ease off the stick on Xbox. You can accelerate and hold a turn at any speed without seeing them. There's a smooth enough ramp up and steep steps down. Can't really avoid this in gameplay without stopping every turn dead...

I'm not nearly 92 hours in but it got real smooth for me after a quit/restart. One oddity is that merchants take a while to show up now if you run up to them.

It's much, much smoother for me after the update. Ruined the quick resume feature though. I don't know why but the game started to stutter again when I left it minimized and came back to it, rather than quiting and restarting. Edit: This is fine now.

Did you come back to the game through quick resume by any chance? This reintroduced the stuttering for me. It's smooth again after quiting and restarting the game.

Scratch that, the camera judder is only there for decelerating horizontal pans on Xbox. Quick resume inexplicably introduced another stutter. Restarting the game fixed that. Still weird.

I've noticed most of the stalls and system bugs on Xbox are related to the HDD. It becomes unresponsive with no indication to what it's doing, and then so cleverly saves whatever bugged out process it was stuck on to stay bugged out after a restart.

Yeah, after some more experimenting it seems the rules change depending on where you are. It's really very weird.

If anything it seemed to look a little better for me, or maybe the save I loaded turned a pleasant time of day.
