Lol I just tried them on and was like WTF. Glad this is a known issue and I'm not the only one.

Might be speaking too soon but I'm on a no crash record right now after disabling XMP. used to crash every 5-10 minutes non stop and I am almost an hour in a no issues so far. Everything RT psycho/ultra but film grain/ CA/ DoF / LF off. 3080 GTX TUF GAMING Will update, fingers crossed...

By far the buggiest quest I have seen "Well whats up V?"

not sure if this would work in the mean time but copy the saved files into individual folders for each character and then when you want to play another character put the files into the game saved folder

did you have to do any initial tweaking with any video/window/nvidia settings or did it always work?

Same issue as jeppro a few posts up, have done all those steps. It will just crash randomly midgame sometimes 5 minutes in, sometimes an hour in when I play at uncapped FPS/ultra settings. Sometimes driving, sometimes in a fire fight, sometimes just talking to someone. Seems completely...
