1.05 unplayable due to broken gamma menu/setting.

*SOLVED!*
I was being stupid.

Before 1.05 my gamma slider was in the middle and the picture was fine.
A little bright, i still had some headroom to the left seeing the logo, but i like it that way.

After 1.05 the game was MUCH darker, i had to move the gamma slider all the way to the right just to see the logo.

I then went on and deleted my config files, suspecting a bug with the settings, even tho i never altered the inis.
Now the gamma menu is gone!

The game is now way too dark to play and the "Gamma" menu simply does not show up in options anymore.

HALP?

When you delete the settings the game defaults to borderless window mode. In that mode you cannot change gamma. Simply switch to full screen and gamma settings will reappear.

same problem here..

is there an entry in the ini files for it somewhere ?
i only found a gamma entry for "visuals" like movies.

look at the screenshots.. it's TOTALLY BLACK at night, i can't see AYNTHING anymore.

when changing to fullscreen i can access the gamma setting, but it has NO effect for me when moving the slider.

i was able to change the gamma in 1.04 and before, even in borderless windowed mode.

they really fucked up the gamma completely !!

Those screenshots look dark, but not unplayable. Check your video settings. If you don't have your monitor and drivers calibrated for proper gamma and colors, you should do that.

I always find it funny if someone is complaining about something looking shitty, yet they're on a crap monitor with the settings all out of whack.
So make sure your stuff is all in order. :)

Screenshots don't have anything to do with external monitor settings.

Drivers and Windows color settings are default, because changing anything there will mess it up.

But to calm you down, I'm a video editor and do color corrections at work and have a Sony screen that is set up perfectly. I even checked the screen shots on other devices and with different monitor gamma settings, yes they are almost completely black.

The few dots are from the rain animation and not from the environment. Only on one screen you can make out some environment at all when turning brightness up so high that black is not black anymore on a normal screen.

I can play ok though, but the gamma slider doesn't work at all anymore in the game and is missing in borderless mode anyway.

Yes but what I meant is that they don't look unplayably dark to me, on my screen. Also I wasn't talking about you there, it's just that I'll often see cases of that happening yet the person has their settings all wrong.

I do think they need to have a lot more settings in-game for these types of things though. There should be full video/color settings in every game IMO.
