1.07 patch on PC and alternative movement style for geralt.

Hi,
can you post a video of the difference between the new movement style and the old one?

How can I activate the new movement style?

Is it true that 1.07 ruins graphics quality on PC version?

Google is love, love is Google. As for the graphics downgrade, I read multiple people having lower FPS, but that's as much of a graphical downgrade there is, I think.

No need for videos - lemme explain

1) The difference in movement style is just basically sensitivity - way more sensitive with the alternative style than the standard one - no new animations or anything.
2) - New movement style is activated in the menu under gameplay options.
3) No this is not true - game still looks the same although you have more Hairworks options to play with.

what does it mean "way more sensitive"? more sensitive to what?

Is the start and stop animations shorter as well?
I have a bigger problem with them then turning in circles.

i find the new movement style better if you have to run around a lot, but not as good if you want to pick up some things.. especially aiming for looting some containers is much worse with alternate movement style..

I just wanted to say, that with Patch 1.07 the devs have done a great job optimizing this masterpiece even more. Runs great on my system, I was able to set the graphics higher, without having stability issues, Ciris outfit looks great and reminds me of her time with the "Rats". Finally I know which books I have read so far.

So ... Thank you guys, for making this game even more amazing. I look gladly forward to play the two DLC's and get to know, whats up with that slimy Man-of-Glas-guy, who already seemed to be suspicious, when I met im White Orchard in the prologue

The new movement type doesn't indicate much inertia, meaning that if you were to come to a complete stop from running, it would take less time in the alternative movement mode compared to the normal one. Also you can turn faster while running. The option can be activated in options-->gameplay--> movement response. Personally I prefer the standard movement type just because of more realism, but that's just my opinion. Regarding the graphics quality on pc after patch 1.07, I haven't noticed any downgrade in graphics. On the contrary, I think the game looks even better now, and I have also gained some 6 or 7 fps, which is always great.:pride2:

Maybe it's a combination of my PS4 controller and InputMapper, but I can regularly make Geralt auto-walk with the new movement system. And this never happens with the old movement system. I have tested both, and it's regularly there with the new movement, never with the old.

If I slowly let go of the left stick, often times Geralt will keep walking.
This breaks the new movement for me. I generally have to spam X/A a lot more to loot, and a few times I have fallen off a cliff because Geralt didn't stop but kept walking.
Which is a damn shame, because otherwise it feels great. Gone is the annoying few walking steps before running and movement is actually consistent as you want it now.
But that damn auto-movement if you don't release the left stick correctly ruins it. Controls are not good when you have to actively think about them.

Thanks for the explanation for this I really needed that explanation coz I see no difference between the alternative and the standard movement.

New movement basically reduces geralts momentum and inertia. For those that were fine with it before might find the new system slightly jarring but that is why we have the option and can choose which level of responsiveness we prefer.

I'm using a GTX980 SLI with a 5930K CPU, with 1.07 patch the framerate drop down to 40FPS and it is very choppy,
to solve the problem you need to "activate the full screen settings" instead of the "windows screen". in this way you'll get 60FPS with butter smooth framerate.
