1.07 ruined my game completely

My first save I left off in a cave during a story mission in Velen. Once I got the update, the game would crash when loading the save. So I started over. New save crashes when I try to travel to Velen. I paid to only play a game this far I guess.... i5 4690k, 16gb ram, gtx970, Windows 8

no problems here - 1.07 completetely fixed all my load-crashes.

just introduced new bugs like not being able to get achievements....I had no crashes/load problems before but refuse to play a game that doesnt recognize "accomplishments" in game.

Wow... Really? Not saying there's no bugs or that achievements didn't get bugged. I'm just surprised by this mentality, achievements are fairly new to gaming (10 or so years) I'm surprised how much people value them. Sure I like them but if they break ohh well, I don't need gog, steam or my console telling me I beat the game.

On topic: since you're on computer it's a good idea to make back up copies of your saves when patching. It sounds more like a file corruption while updating than an issues with the actual patch. Try verifying you game files with gog or steam. If you have a physical copy reinstalling wouldn't take too much time.

Xbox user here but I am having loads of crashing issues, it's been really bad since day 1 but since patch 1.07 I cannot load saved games....

At least last night I got my first play since the release some 5-6 days ago - but only 5-10mins in (when I tried to meditate) and bam it crashed again and now back to not being able to load ANY of the save points.

I've already reinstalled the game and started from scratch one time, I really won't do it again so unless there's word on how they will address this I will not be able to play, not due to a lack of wanting to but simply the game will NOT load. /frustrated.
