Same here. Playing with a 360 pad and, like shown on that video, I have no problem doing the slow walk and adjusting it to be a bit faster until he starts slow running.

Funny how people are completely ignoring the video that pretty much proves you still can do the slower walk with gamepad.

There is a difference in not seeing the problem and not having the problem.
If your using GOG , you can try this ( it will only take a few minutes of your time , depending your connection)

Make a backup of your save games ( just in case)
Roll back your game to 1.06 ( will download 1 Gb patch)
Start a new game or load an old save (from 1.06) and skip to the part where Siri is training , then do the tuturial where you do a race / run with her.
Now find a nice spot to " walk " ;)
Gently nudge your left "analog" stick forward , you will start to walk slowly , push it further , and you will do a faster pace , (but it still be a walk), and push it all the way and you start to run ( not sprint) . So in fact 3 different states .

Install 1.07 , and do the same at the same place , you will notice you can only have 2 different speed states.

Like i said in previous comment , its not the end of the world ; but it was perfect as it was .
So Please DEVS :D can you give us some feedback on this ?

You can walk like this ?

I am ready to see your video, showing you, walking at this speed with 1.07.

Th missiing walk is simply the slowest speed, like you see in the video above. It was only choreographic, almost useful. I play with a pc with keyboard and mouse and I did not know of the existence of the slowest walk before the 1.07 patch (only the slow it is possible with keyboard, the slowest was not). Now I tested with an xbox360 pad for pc and I realized. However, it was a minor feature.

For you, it's minor because you didn't know that, as a keyboard user.
There isn't just one slowest walk, it use the analog stick, therefore the more you go up with your stick, the more you speed up your walk (and slow down with stick down). (I know, i can confirm, i go back to 1.06 and I can compare)

The problem is, now there is only one walk: the hurry one...

This is not a slow walk that is missing, but a normal walk.

In the 1.07, geralt seems always in a hurry (it's the walk before running).
You can't have now a normal walk or a slow walk in a dangerous place, in a village.
A lot of people like to enyoy the mood, the landscape...
If you get used to it, it 's hard to understand why they taking off that feature.

If some peoples doesn't care, some other care a lot...So please give us back this.
(this is not the idea of a patch or update in my opinion)

i got the overburden thing going on cause of better camera angle and enjoying walking (seems more realistic to me, enjoying landscape, etc). i'm guessing the slowest walk is gone too if you're overburden? somebody tested it? well, then i'm waiting till next patch comes out witch hopefully got a fix on this one

I was already disappointed the alternative movement thing was not a full walking option for the analog stick, going through different speeds of movement just walking. this makes it even less immersive for us that walked everywhere, I used the slow walk a lot

i hate to sound like a childish complainer, but, to be honest, i'm a bit annoyed by this change.
i really liked the standard walking animation as it was before. it felt more realistic. now even when i walk, it looks like i'm pacing "a la terminator", which kinda breaks the immersion.

it's not a huge deal of course, but still i'm sad they changed it.
i understand they wanted to improve the experience by adding an alternative animation for those who wanted something different...... but they could have left the standard animation "just as it was", for those who didn't have a problem it (as they said they would have).

i guess we'll just have to hope the devs will hear our feedback and give us the old animation back.

Just gave the game a quick twirl while waiting for my coffee to brew up.
My kid installed the patch yesterday and had positive things to say about it this morning.

Anyway, I am using the alternative, and there are three for me, walk, jog and sprint. (using controller or keyboard).
BUT, I will add that I find controlling Geralt to much better.

First thing I noticed compared to my experience of 1.03, was that I am not banging the character into walls, trees like he had too much coffee and had the jitters etc.
Much more control in this regard.
Obviously, that extra walk animation was WHY he was out of control in this regard as the sweet spot on the controller was hard to locate.
So when moving...he went batshit crazy.....hence the banging into things.

I like this change and FULLY endorse it.
Walk is walk...why do I want to go any slower or faster... no reason I can think of.
I can walk along with NPC's listening to them.... perfect.
I can jog if the need arises.... perfect.
And I can sprint when I need to..... also perfect.

Excellent change is my vote.
Good job developers ;)

To be honest i don't see any difference with and without a patch. Moving outside combat is still clunky as hell, i was expecting at least witcher 2 responsiveness.

Never had any problems with the 1.06 controls using gamepad.
How about they leave the extra animation and speed change in the normal setting (like it was in 1.06)
and put the new changed system active (like its now) only when selecting alternative controls.

That would be best of both worlds now wouldnt it be?

Indeed, I'm all for adding in a new more responsive control style for those that want it but altering the original method when it was working fine seems a bit silly.

The most annoying thing is that you can actually still walk slowly indoors with a tiny tilt of the stick, but as soon as you go outside he breaks into his swagger straight away even with the stick only tilted ever so slightly.

That is weird.
On PC it works and I'm playing with a Xbox One Controller...

OK, i just tested it and indeed the slow walk is gone. Also on PC with a gamepad.

So am I but I definitely can't walk slowly outside, a slight tilt of the stick is full speed walk, a full tilt is run. Before this patch it would gently ramp up to a full speed walk the further you tilted it and then start running when fully pressed. The animation is clearly still there but it seems to be ignoring the gentle input or something...who knows.

No they're talking about the super-duper slow-walk. There used to be 4 speeds (if you count sprint), now however there's only 3 speeds. Not really a big problem, but I dont really understand why they would remove it.

I am happy for you. The alternative seems to be better, but they break the control speed in both mode.
The alternative mode is not about not having this.

But what's the point to break the analog control? If you don't like to choose the speed of your walk, why not make everyone happy and let it in the normal control option?
Personnaly i will prefer the alternate control with the possibility to adjust the speed like almost game and like before.
In Batman game, dark souls...control are not great? Most every games used it since the beginning of analog stick.

They are building amazing controler with analog stick, analog trigger, rumbble etc.
In a car game, you can choose the speed of your car with pression on the trigger(like gta 5), in soccer game the speed of your player.
the majority of the game use that feature.

We are in 2015. Not 20 years later in Resident evil with basic controler and binary move. One button to walk and one to run.
Nowadays, we can change, choose the speed of the character.

Gameplay is important, Feeling with the control of your charater is really important
I don't get it why taking off that control speed system!

I'm guessing its just a small thing to do with the analogue stick input or something, altered for the new movement method but accidentally applied to the classic style as well. It's not like they totally removed the animation or altered it so it should be fairly simple to put back to how it was.

i'm just thinking out loud here, and i'm not a developer, so i don't know how easy\difficult it would be to implement such a feature..... but it might be nice to have a sensitivity slider-adjustment for the left stick, like the one we already have for the right stick.
this way, everyone would be able to set the walking animation to the pace they like the most.

i'm not making any "demands" here, just my personal feedback.

Five, to be honest. For walk, before patch 1.07 you could slow walk, walk and walk faster. And two speed for running: one with only the stick and the other with the button. They remove slow walk and walk, so now we have only walk faster, run and sprint. In other words, they completely cut off the analogic movement.

i just found out something weird, but i'd like some confirmation before drawing any conclusion. so try it out yourselves and get back to me.

i switched to the alternative mode and noticed absolutely no difference whatsoever with the standard mode.... even in terms of responsiveness it feels exactly the same as the standard mode.

is that the same for u or is it just me?
Coz if that's the case, then perhaps there was just some minor issue with the patch (in which case we might expect the devs to fix it).
that would also explain why the standard mode is different from before the patch (afterall the devs stated they intended to create an alternative movement mode, while leaving the standard mode exactly as it was).

so tell me, do you notice any difference at all between standard and alternative mode?
btw, i play on ps4, if that's relevant.
