1.08 got still screen freezing

I'm using dual core cpu (2 thread).
Before 1.07, witcher 3 works perfectly fine on my pc.
But after 1.07, I got random 3~5 second freezes every minute or so (even cutsences).
I did not get these before the latest patch (1.07 & 1.08)
These are not stutters or microstutters, but full on screen freeze / buffer moments, like the game is trying to load more of the game world.
Only Screen freezing, sounds are normally playing. only screen freeze.
Framerate is fine otherwise, but these random freezes are really annoying. No clue how to fix it.
sadly, 1.08 has same issue. still freezing. (reinstall witcher 3 and patch 1.06, No screen freezing and works fine)
please fix this annoying bug, CDPR.

I feel your pain brother, myself and many others here also have this problem.

We all have CPUs that are well below the minimum spec though, so don't expect anyone to fix it. Would be nice if they did, but it almost certainly isnt going to happen.

It's not only an issue for dual core CPUs. I own 6 cores Phenom II 1090T and the graphics display lag is present since patch 1.07. Doesn't matter what graphic settings I use it lags even on lowest settings. The annoying thing is especially for dialog animation when the sound is running fluently and the graphics lagging. it;s like in old action movies from Hong Kong. The lagging is visible on the game main menu.

My rig is:
CPU - Phenom II 1090T
GPU - R9 280OC 3GB (latest Catalist 15.7.1 drivers - optimized for W3)
RAM - 8GB
OS - W7

It's a pitty that CDPR didn't mentioned in the Release Notes for the 1.07 patch, that after this update the Syetem Requirements had increased ...

Ever since 1.0.7 game freezes all the time for me as well. Judging from process explorer output, there are periodical peaks of CPU consumption during which GPU doesn't render anything. Also I've noticed that these freezes happen more often in the wild areas.

I got my very first complete system lockup during gameplay. Running 1.08, screen froze, sounds continued to play, but PC was frozen solid. No CTD, no alt-tab, no ctrl-alt-delete. PC was FROZEN. Had to hard boot it, and then it played fine for another few hours. First time I've seen that, and hopefully my last. Before, I only had a few simple CTD on 1.07, nothing major. Otherwise, the Game runs fine on max settings for me.

My PC was frozen (4-5 times) too. The screen froze, the sounds continued. I've got win 10. My system: FX 8350 (with a good cooler)/ GTX 970/ 16 gb RAM. I reinstalled the game twice, but it didn't helped a lot. A have this problem since 1.08.

Freezing is about the versions 1.07 and still present in 1.08. Not properly fixed if they tried from 1.07 to 1.08.

I have it too even with a Core i7 3770K at 4300mhz, 12GB RAM and GTX960 4GB (play in 1080p). I can only make it stop with close to low settings.

Before on 1.06 no problems at all and I finished the game with that version. Now started a new game and sometimes game hangs, sound disappears and also building up of backgrounds, trees etc. only suddenly happens.

Had Same problem. Found a New mod today on nexus IT is called erformance fix for dual core cpu.

IT really works for me. No lags anymore. RunnIng on dual core e8400 3ghz

i was having same problem on my dual core after update 1.08, i then found the link to the cpu performance fix as K1nt4r0 posted and that actually works!! i can now run the game with no freezing at all were as before i was freezing up every few minutes

just google "nexus it witcher 3 cpu fix" and pick the link to nexusmods

Nvidia 560 card.

I was getting the same thing, running on dual core and using gtx 750 vcard. Did some tweaks and here's what i did:
Prior to these tweaks i have everything running on LOW setting(GRAPHICS)
VSYNC:ON
Maximum frames per second: UNLIMITED
Display mode:WINDOW

Now go to Postprocessing presets and have everything on low too then make these changes:
BLOOM: ON
AMBIENT OCC:HBAO+
VIGNETTING: ON

Hope it helps!
*quick note. im not that tech savy and i have no intentions on researching how this set up fixed it but this one workd for me.
