2.1 update problem

Yes ive been think about trying to get it on a flash drive. If i remember correctly there was something on google that said something about CDProjektRed pressing charges against anybody caught illegally downloading thier stuff

Ok the microsoft fix didnt workand so i contacted microsoft and they couldnt give me a solution either. All they told me to do was factory reset the pc and reinstall everything. Everything seems to work fine now.

Game included ? Did it update to 2.1 ?

No the process formatted my hard drive and made it just like you pulled it out of the box. Fortunatly a buddy of mine let me use his old cd drive and the game installed. It is updated to 2.0 and i refuse to do the 2.1 patch. I dont want the whole hassle of it again. It does play fine now though

Good to know . Be sure and run the game from the witcher2exe and you won`t be bothered with it wanting to update to 2.1 .

I made the same choice, just re-installed without the 2.1 patch. I did restart several times before I reinstalled, but at a certian point it is just not worth the hassle to try and track down the problem.

BTW - I don't have Adobe or the other program mentioned. I did try reinstalling .Net 4.0.

I did figure out that something went wrong with Windows Registry that would not allow anything to update. Many different programs and drivers couldnt be updated which included the .NET Framework. When it wouldnt install it uninstalled all previous versions of the .NET Framework which wouldnt let me do pretty much anything with The Witcher games
