Best single gpu after Titan and GTX 680 but ghz edition is usually faster than GTX 680, still it's plenty for Witcher 2 on highest settings except uber but it will still be playable on Uber, maybe not as smooth as you would like though.

Not to mention wider memory bus and more memory plus more than 2x GPGPU performance.

Yep it's a great card and the extra Vram certainly comes handy, still stock vs stock GTX 680 outperforms it in more cases than not another story is if you're talking overclock though.

Isn't the best GPU the new Radeon 7990? I heard that beats the Nvidia Titan.

No idea with one is the best but standard 7970 will run everything maxed out perfectly if other components are just as good. Tried this already but make sure its properly cooled, ubersampling adds at least 10°C

HD 7990 should be compared with GTX690

7990 is dual gpu card like GTX 690, 2x7970 clocked to 1000 mhz and can boost to 1050 from what i've heard, Titan still the best single gpu.

Do you mean with recent drivers (>=13.2) too?

Yep, but 7970 overclocks really well. Techpowerup

7990 is technically faster than GTX 690, but crossfire has really bad frame time issues. I think AMD already has prototype drivers that fix the frame time issues to some extent. Still SLI is somewhat better. 7990 also draws a lot of power and due to that doesn't overclock well.

Yep, non clocked 7970 does not perform better than GTX 680 and as he above me showed the only 7970 that outperforms GTX 680 is the clocked ones as i said like ghz edition or matrix platinum etc for even more difference though Radeon 7970 is easily the best value for your money if you know how to OC it.

I've had several crossfire setups and didn't like it at all, i is/was interested in 7990 but they really have to improve the microstutter issue and better scaling in some games before i will consider it.
