P.S. Why Geralt wears same armour in flashbacks, as he wears in future - a.k.a. Witcher 3 timeline?

Only just for a bit in order to see the story, and that only if it's really needed. The trilogy is about Geralt. Maybe in future witcher universe games, we get to play as someone else or even create our character, but not now.

I want to play as Zoltan, Dandelion, triss and Yennefer too, its the last game of trilogy and end of Geralt's story, so we want to play as Triss, Yennefer, zoltan and Dandelion too as we might not meet them in next games.

Why are people so excited about Ciri?

I read many comments where people wrote how excited they are about Ciri, I don't understand it. I have read the first 4 books and I know that she is a key character, I mean no harm but I found some of the side characters more intresting than her. When I read the books I always imagined her as Arya from ice and fire (little spoiler if didn't read the books: a fighting princess, trained by the witchers not the faceless mens and in my opinion their their personalities are similar a litlle bit as well).
I know that she will be playable, but as far as I know we can't switch between the characters, we can only control her for certain period of the game for not very long time, or am I wrong?
I see that there is much competency in her character, but I am much more excited about Yennefer.

I would have been more interested in playing Yennefer too, for a new stance on combat (and the CGI intro made me hope for that), and their Ciri is not like I imagined her.

But if it fits the game it's alright.

Your certainly not alone on this. There are a few Ciri haters out there from what I've seen. Personally I don't dislike the character I just don't find her as interesting as much as some of the others. I am really excited to see her in game though so I can see if CDPR have made any changes to her now that she's older. I doubt they will though, given the number of people who love her.f

I knew it would be ciri not yennefer because it changes the combat style and I hate only sorcery attacks(like in soul sacrifice very boring for me).
But ciri attack will be same as geralt but less in stamina,no posion resistance,less hp(compared to the witchers),more luck and unique sorcery.

That is a quest pattern named Back Story.
"Backstory quests allow the game designer to flesh out the story much more, give specific insight into past character development or events in the world, and give the player a better understanding of the grand scope of things."

It's pretty common in RPGs. It is used in Final Fantasy 8, Planescape: Torment, KOTOR 2 and others. It is good that REDs used this pattern.

I think it should alternate with the storyline until late game where we they do it like Folklore did Keats, and Ellen. Changing at a bar when the other one gets tired of kicking ass.

I'm glad there'll be no forced Yennefer or Triss wizard gameplay. Gameplay-wise we buy the game cos we want to play the sword combat and the best nearest experience as sword combatants are Ciri and other Witchers and Ciri makes much more sense as a playable character.

Well she was at first I turned out to be feeling like Cahir on this one.

I don't think there'll be romance interests for Ciri. If there are then I don't think I'd pursue them.

I'm more curious about if Ciri's play sequences will be linear just for seeing what happened to her in that particular sequence? Or will there be branching paths also?

I'm opposed to it, but I'm fine with it as long as it's not too much, and the character you switch to isn't a lot weaker than the main character, which was the case with many of the character switches in KOTOR 2.

Ciri is not a lot weaker, she's OP.

Yeah Geralt's certainly better at sword fighting but Ciri is considerably good and she has other powers; prolly only one of them is in the gameplay which makes sense.

I'm actually really curious on how they'll handle this. Romance options definitely don't fit her considering how every guy or girl she's even slightly fancied in the past has met with a terrible fate. That, and the fact that her sexual experiences up until this point in the series have been almost exclusively with argubly-pedophilic men and women who have molested her in times when she was vulnerable.

Ciri beginning to have feelings for that knight guy, Galahad, that were presented as unusual for her, presumably since all of her past relationships were so unfulfilling and exploitative.Sapkowski basically gave her the happliy-ever-after ending, so it'll be weird if Galahad goes unmentioned in TW3.
