360 problem, please help

During the Tutorial when you get the treasure chest and the game wants you to add items to your quick slots, when I try to open the menu to do this I keep getting the message " action cannot be performed here". Am I missing someting or is this a glitch?
Any help would be great.

Make sure that you are pressing the "back" buttom to access the inventory menu and not the "LB" to access the meditation menu.

It sounds like you are pressing the "LB" button. That's the wrong button to use for accessing the main inventory. You have to first access the main inventory, to place items in your quick slots.
