The patch will only be available day 0. Meaning no pre-load of the day 0 patch unfortunately.
The reason its called day 0 patch is because they will be working on it down to the last possible minute. So no downloading that in advance Im afraid.
I am completely fine with this, but I recommend that nobody stay up until 2AM to play the game, it will take some time.

So I noticed today that there is an automatic CP2077 Steam download waiting to happen tonight around 4-5 pm. I guess patches will be downloaded as they are ready. Sure this doesn't mean that we won't be required to DL big patch stuff at launch, but maybe no more than one patch.

I had no issues in Steam personally. Preloaded just fine. But I got like 150mb!/s internet so my CP was downloaded in like 15 - 20 mins.
I just got a manual 15 GB update on my pre-loaded game on Xbox One X. This is on top of the 59 GB base game download.
Didn't notice anything like that in PC today.
Also, what do you mean by "manual update"?
I had to go into the game's settings in my library and look under Updates, and select it for it to download. I guess this would have triggered if I were able to launch the game normally; which obviously I can't do yet.

Xbox One and PS4 use mechanical drives so I wouldn't count it out.
I really hope the 59GB I just spent over 24 hours downloading on the PC version on GOG is all I needed to download. My internet speed is around 500KB/s if I'm lucky and no one else in my house is watching youtube or god forbid Netflix. Can a Dev Confirm anything for the Digital version of CP2077? Will there still be a huge day one patch or what? be nice to know for sure so I can kinda get things sorted before hand.
