A drunk Witcher

After playing the Witcher 2, I found it lacking in proper consumables. There are examples of drinking in the game, but only at certain points in the story or during certain quests. I have not played the first game, but I have seen gameplay of drunken Geralts and I was hoping it would be implemented into the final game. In the Witcher 2, Geralt was also unable to buy alcohol and food, also preventing him from drinking or eating at will. The option to be able to do so would be very welcome.

I think Alcohol has been confirmed to return. And as you pointed out yes you can get drunk in TW1.

I once played TW1 completely drunk, it was a special experience. Although I agree on the dizzy part. Still it was great to have the option.
I did like though how they handled it in TW2, giving it its own story/quest rather than having the player run around drunk randomly.

Anyway, ideally I'd like to see both - sidequest(s) that involve Geralt being drunk as part of the story (which TW1 also had, let's not forget that) and the option to just get drunk from alcohol in your inventory. I also agree that food needs to be handled better in the next game. For some reason you could still buy it in TW2, but it served no purpose? I've never understood why they did that. The function of food in TW1 made perfect sense, no need to mess with that.

I second that. The side quest in the Witcher 2 which allowed you to get drunk with the blue stripes was great. But the option to get drunk whenever would be nice.

I think it's all good and fun when it's at specific moments where it makes sense for Geralt to drink, especially if it offers amusing sidequests like it did in TW2. But no I don't think it's necessary to bring back TW1's ability to drink anything at all times just for the sake of it.

I mean better for this next gen i.e As far as I can tell cdpr has already made the horse look and move better, but yeah being drunk in RDR is still perfect for it's time hands down

Goofing around town blind drunk sounds cool (as it was in TW1) but I think it would become old pretty soon...
Id welcome some sidequests or even mimi-games when that opiton would matter or be a prerequisite.

I think Geralt should be able to eat (vigor regeneration?), drink (vitality regeneration?) and drink alcohol (just for fun, and for CONTESTS )
