A little worrying

Yeah the free ones. Probably some minor things, like barbershop, vehicle customization and maybe some small side quests.
Probably but they delayed it, I'm not getting my hopes up or anything but it could add a lot of the content that was missing.

Yes, the free ones. Not the DLC's for money with new story content, like searching for a cure, new romances, buying apartments or something else. I don't know
yeah, expansions aren't on their priority list rn, they are still likely working on it tho.

Im in the same camp as you. This message screamed to me "the only issue we care about is the performance on Consoles and bugs on consoles"

Even if this game ran the same on consoles as it does right now on my PC, that won't change the AI, the Police System, the traffic, the crowds, the lack of immersion, the lack of activities in the world or the the lack of world interaction

I love the game better then any game out atm. I am thankful for the hotfixes and hopefully optimistic for patch 1.1 and updates thereafter. I also am wishfull for a true next gen port on PS5 and Xbox X.

IMO this game probably shouldn't have been released for old generation consoles due to their limited capabilities.

Yes I am glad to hear from them. But ignoring the larger problem to focus on the smaller problem doesn't inspire confidence.
My concern is in 6 months we'll have the same game without the bugs. That would be very disappointing.
Not being able to sell the game on one of the 3 major platforms is not a small issue homie.

But I get your meaning, the first year seems to be dedicated to outdated consoles. They should have just made the game pc exclusive year one.

It feels like people bought in too much in the video demonstrations while the game was still in development and likely to change in the subsequent release. I'm old, so I've experienced games that "promised" things like Spore, No Man's Sky, Street Fighter vs Tekken, Anthem, and Fallout 76 and it always, ALWAYS, best to assume nothing is set in stone no matter what anyone in the gaming industry promises. Shit changes from small to drastic measures during development even in the final days.

I hope consumers learn from this and learn to avoid pre-ordering unless you don't mind.

I watched and listened carefully to the message the CDPR CEO broadcasted through the video today and I have to say I'm extremely disappointed and feel like its a hopeless situation, like this is the final end of the road for Cyberpunk.

Us gamers have learned the hard lesson that we shouldn't read between the lines and interject our own personal hopes and dreams into a game when the developer doesn't explicitly made such a promise in writing, even when its hinted and reasonably inferred or all but assumed, we have to stop short of letting our imagination run wild and we must go by what is actually stated...

It isn't so much what the CEO said, it is what he did NOT say... He made zero mention of revamping the totally nonexistent AI, including the lacking NPC AI driving, the cop chase /stars system and also the AI of the NPC pedestrians and in general the true immersion of the game/city that was promised but never materialized...

There was zero mention of adding back content that was cut, nothing about adding back the train system, or the walk climbing, or dual welding or any number of dozens of features and functionalities that were promised in the numerous trailers but then suddenly abandoned and cut out at the very last minute in order to ship a broken and incomplete game under false pretenses just to pump up sales revenue for the holiday season....

So in essence, there will be a few bug fixes, but that's pretty much it.... you can tell by the tone of the CEO that in his mind the PC version is already pretty great and basically don't even need fixing, and the main focus will be on making the last gen consoles versions more playable...

What is most disheartening perhaps is towards the end of the video message the CEO is just brushing Cyberpunk aside and already on the verge of pimping to us the next new games/titles that CDPR has in the pipeline and in the works...

I for one will never again pre-order another game from CDPR, and most likely will never buy nor play another CDPR game ever again if their DLC ends up being just some more story telling missions and does nothing to fix the AI, to add back functionality that was in the trailer but cut out at last minute, or to make good on the immersion that was promised that would befit a city of this genre...

But if we are to take the CEO's own words at face value, there is no evidence that any of this will ever happen. The only thing he mentioned was bug fixes, primarily on the last gen consoles, and still refused to admit the PC version is also horribly broken in that its basically missing at least a full 1/3rds of the content/functionality/immersion that was cut out in order to rush the shipping date and also to load-shed the game enough to conform to the last gen consoles least common denominator...

It isn't about the money to me, I would gladly pay hundreds or thousands of bucks for a true NightCity that lived up to its full potential... but what we are hearing from the CEO today, is that they will do some bug fixes, push out a DLC with no mention of adding back cut functionality and content/ immersion, no mention of fixing AI, NPC, etc and basically just wrapping it up and now they already want to rinse and repeat and ready to sell us the NEXT game...

Fool me once....

NO... JUST NO. NEVER AGAIN.
I do hope all is included in tbe free DLCs, otherwise no more CDPR for me. But now we have to wait and see...

If they want to go the mainstream FIFA / COD route and start making games that are generic and appeal to everyone, fine. Their decision.

I'll give them a chance to finish developing this game first, see how the final product, after all content is added looks like...

I suppose me and all other more "niche" gamers that love good RPGs and adventures done well will just move on if they don't add the missing content to the current game.

They probably sell more, but will loose all the original CDPR fans.

That said, there is still some hope, albeit small.

I second this. Demos and betas are used as marketing tools to build up hype. In all circumstances people set their expectations way too high without taking into account how the product development world works. Features are being built, cut and released up to seconds before the official launch. That's the industry and culture that has been developed within the gaming (and corporate) world. As a consumer, you need to take everything with a pinch of salt and if you do decide to invest you need to own up to your decision.

It was announced before 8th gen even released. How many times do we have to go over this? Other developers aren't having issues releasing 8th gen games. The only major issue I'm aware of that Ubisoft faced was a save corruption bug for Watch Dogs Legion. CDPR can't do better than Ubisoft of all companies? And before I get the response, yes Witcher 3 didn't run great at first but it also wasn't such a disaster launch either.

Edit: added slight context

I get it TC, but you have to understand they can't confirm "anything" until the dated consoles version is running and stable. Seriously, think about what I'm saying. Doesn't mean they are ever going to, it just means until the consoles are stable they can't talk about going forward.

We need a roadmap for what their vision of the game will be in a years time. They have the entirety of 2021 past February dedicated to content updates, so we all hope that the stuff that we want will be added in that timeframe.

Calling it all over for addressing the most prominent issues seems a little... soon. We're unlikely to see a detailed roadmap until march, if at all.

Beyond that, I think CDPR need to play their cards close to their chest due to the controversy, although at this point a simple statement of "Yes we're adding content that should have been in the base game" would be appreciated, but I can see lawyers diving all over that.
