A little worrying

VERY true. What they should have done is release a message along with the 1.1 update (whenever that's ready). Then the message wouldn't ring hollow because there'd be some actions to back it up with. Yes, people would still be angry at the lack of communication leading up to the 1.1 release, but the end result would be much better.

Not to be pedantic but presumably this message is being ahead of the January update. It's not exactly a long wait.

Yes. That's exactly what we want. Some weight in our trivial decisions.
Take Fallout New Vegas as an example.

I actually think the game is making a point, like Dragon Age 2, that systemic issues can't be solved by one person. Johnny NUKED Night City and it came back almost identical to what happened before. The issues of Night City aren't "kill the bad guys", the issues are, "poverty and corruption."

I have to say a friend and I were reading some lore today and it was not lining up with the game which made us question a few things. As for bad writing, I agree too. I mean the main story was horrible, pointless because of the ending and even the journey to find out what exactly was the chip and why Johnny was never really explained in my opinion which equates to BAD WRITING. I will say some of the side quests were way better than the main story but there were so many story strings just left blowing in the wind.

What is good about it? Serious question because there are a lot of plot holes in my opinion.
10 minutes if research would have been enough to find out that the problems of the epilogues can be fixed by commercially available technology.

See Bioware in Chromebook 2.

Up to the epilogue, the writing is ok.
The epilogues than take the buildup and execute it.

You should really start reading books.

If this was a book, it would not have been published.
ahw.. how sweet of you...
i did read almost all Shadowrun books
everything from R.A.Salvatore
everything from Margret Weis and Tracy Hickman
complete Shanara chronicles from Terry Brooks
every Discworld book from Terry Pratchet

and a lot of other stuff
iam also a Pen&Paper DM for Dungone & Dragons and did some Shadowrun DMing, playing PnP since 1995

if you dont like the story.. thats not my fault... like i did say...
not everyone is a StarWars fan

but some stuff was shocking and unexpected..
some stuff did shed tears in my eyes either because of sadness or because it was funny
Evelyn made me sad, the funeral of Jacky made me feal realy sad, Goro Takemura made me giggle
the Sinnerman quest made me feal i dunno.. it was sureal
I did like Silverhand...
hes an asshole.. but also a nice guy of some sort...

also the philosopical stuff... what is real life...
take a look at the 2 Bhikkhu Monks, after you save them... did you talk to them?
Or Delamain.. for me it was a hard choice to decide his fate

i also like the end... i choose to belive that Silverhand leaves with Art.. and you go into space to get a cure from Mr. Blue eyes
and who is Mr. Blue eyes?

so many mysterys...
i love it

You read all those books and failed to see the retcons at the end?

Most positive things you mentioned are side missions. They really are good.

And "choose to believe" is just a fancy word for headcanon

i dont get your point
the end is writen in stone... period
ofc there had to be retcons...
every damn game dose that
its the illusion of choice
you dont have any

PnP is as interactiv as it can get...
and let me tell you a DM secret
it dosnt matter what the Players do...
in the end they do what i whant them to do

if i gave them 2+X choices of doors to choose...
they can open any of them
guess what..
behind the door is what i whant it to be... dosnt matter what they choose (if it fits ofc)

a very popular adventure is the Curse of Strahd
you lay down Taroka cards for the players..
they decide the fate..
the players can do what they whant...
but nothing can change that fate

and choose to belive...
yeah ofc i do choose what ending i like most

witcher 3 had 3 endings..
ofc i didnt choose the death of Ciri to be the real ending

p.s.
plot holes and such
think of the Hobbit.
why didnt they use the Eagles to begin with...
they could have done a 20min movie/short book

also you should read maybe this post... theres so much detail to explore

It's nice they even Responded in the First Place when they didn't have too.
Though it is Worrying that out of everything they "Acknowledged", non of it was any of the Cut content and Features nor even the Complaints about it.
But of course, I'm not really Surprised. Right now they HAVE to Fix the game, Especially for Consoles. And not "HAVE" as in some Pride BS but at this point Legally Have Too. Because Firms are lining up to just Strafe CDPR with Lawsuits for their Impatience with the Launch Date and Basically Bullshitting everyone and even their Investors with the whole "Game Runs Really Well Surprisingly on Consoles" Crap.
Right now, I guess we just have to Wait some more. Like a Year or Two More till we get anything Concrete from them with the Game.
Fixing Bugs and Glitches is one thing, but the way this game is, Especially on Consoles. It's just a Fucking Joke of a Mess. And sense CP2077 is at this Point Tied with the Base Last-Gen PS4 and Xbox One. Don't really Expect anything Wild or Ground breaking with their Free DLCs.
Personally, if their ever going to Really Do Anything with this IP That's Ground breaking or Crazy or whatever, is either they Overhaul the Game Later down the Line for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X. Basically Revamping the thing. Or just making a Sequel or Prequal to Cyberpunk, Learning from their Lessons from their Fuck up of Cyberpunk 2077.

It's a little worrying that CPDR's stance seems to be the problem is bugs and performance on PS4/XB1 with no mention of the shallow/incomplete stories/romances, the clumsy illusion of choice, the enormous amount of missing promised content, or just shallow/missing basic RPG elements that we'd expect in any game.
Yup, that's my impression also... my guess is that, with player numbers on PC steadily declining, it could be that they simply are done with the game on that level. I mean, no use to go back and improve a single-player game most people already finished and dropped. They probably will concentrate on DLC and new content when the bugs are fixed, but I doubt they'll go back and improve the base game much from here on out.

There is nothing in the video or roadmap that addresses the missing content.

What they said that relates to your concerns, pay particular attention to the second answer.

Now you should stop running around suggesting the sky is falling because they didn't address your pet concerns explicitly and instead wait to see what the next 2 patches actually bring and then what their announcements are once those are delivered.

Well obviously you're not going to get new players when the game is borderline unplayable and the largest console player base in the world isn't selling it.

Listen man, people will not be satisfied until Keanu Reeves is deleted and Judy is a straight waifu with dozens of pornographic braindances with real actresses.

That's what the fans WANT.

'Multiple Updates & Improvements' + DLC

He's a lost cause dude. He is so far down the rabbit hole on this, to acknowledge that he took 'WiP Footage' as a given, would be too much.

The missing content myth is also a myth. Yes, there's a missing subway train that you probably never could ride, it was just going to be like Miles Morales and running around.

A lot of the "missing content", however, never actually existed and never was going to.

They probably WILL add the option to bribe police and improve their AI to leave you alone but that will be like Skyrim, not some deep huge change.

What's even the point of programming subway system in the game with 100 fast travel locations and vehicles that helps you reach any point on the map 5 times faster than using the train?
First Watch Dogs had functional train as did AC Syndicate. What was their purpose? To hop on it, go for one ride, see Chicago and London from the window, take a few screenshots and forget it ever existed.

Yea, right, I'm the one "down the rabbit hole" here... sure. ;)

Unless you're an Alt account. I don't think I was referring to you versus the OP, but still be more offended. It's not like you have a counterpoint to what was said.

I've read different things, about the cut content, but how do we know what was really cut and what was never ingame? Are these just things like a subway or car customization, or is there really an evidenz that they cut some things of the main story? Perhaps some of these things were always planned for the DLC's
