hope that someone will answer me.. thanksskelektron said:I'm glad to see how you CDPR guys work out to make this awesome game almost perfect..I've only a hope for me and all the people that brought the collector's edition just for having all the possible Witcher stuff: to have a special discount on the price of the Enhanced Edition.. it would be great for all of us that haven't a money tree in the personal garden, but wants however to support the team work..i've also two questions: will be possible to modify the new mods using the editor included with EE for translating them in other languages? will the instruction booklet, the official guide and the short story translated in italian and other languages?THANX to all the team for your work and for the eventual answer!![]()
Actually it makes lots of sense ... when this is done and people that have the game turn on others to it in its *new and improved* and (hopefully) crash free form, what do you think the market will be for "The Witcher: Book Two" ??? Crazy? or crazy like a fox?Thalandor26 said:I've just read the pdf with the list of things that are going to be changed. This is so incredible I'm speechless. The Witcher was already sitting with my list of classic games.. Now they are going to make it even better, this is fantastic.I've never seen a company do such a move before.. It doesn't make much sense financially, which is why we usually see one or two patches for a game. The various engine improvements are something useful and an investment for expension/sequel. But re-recording over 5000 lines of english dialog and redoing the german VO... that's got to cost them a bunch, and yet they do it because they know that it could have been much better. Kudos to CDProjectRED...they are making themselves quite a loyal fanbase !
FIrst let say, THANK YOU CDProject for this next coming patch of improvements and extras. This is totaly awesome on your partLordSullivan said:And naturaly, it would be good if the screenshots were automated so we don't have to leave the game to "paste" the screenshot from the clipboard to a graphic program.LordSullivan said:I third that -- sounds like a good idea to me.LordSullivan said:Second it. It would be greatLordSullivan said:@CDProjekt, Could it be possible to add a "Hot Key" so we can toggle the GUI On/Off? It would be great and enable us Fans to take great screenshots. Yes? No?
UK got some content the US didn't, in the original version of Witcher -- namely, there was more nudity in-game and in the sex cards.Necrobile said:Ok, let me start by saying I do not currently own this game. It's been a game I've been very interested in since I saw it released, but unfortunately my age-old cpu just cannot handle it. But this weekend, I'm building a new cpu that will easily handle this game. A day after I ordered my parts, I saw that this newer version of the game is to be released. So, I'm waiting until then to play this game.Though I do have 1 concern. Will Americans get the same content as Europeans?I really hope so. One of the things that made me a little uneasy about the first rendition was the fact that it was missing some content everyone else got. Apparently it's not "game-breaking", but it really is a big shame to know that there is content that was removed and that I will never see, unless I own an international version, and can speak it's appropriate language. Unfortunately, I'm only fluent in english, so importing a european copy is out of the question.
As far as we all know, Atari told CDPR to remove the nudity from the game, fearing that the game could possibly get branded AO, if it was submitted that UNCUT way to the ESRB over here in the States. So, CDPR cut out the nudity, then CDPR and Atari submitted w/out the nudity to the ESRB. So, we really don't know how the UNCUT version would've been rated by the ESRB in the States -- well, we won't know unless CDPR submits an UNCUT version of Witcher to the ESRB.We do know that the UNCUT version of Witcher (w/ violence and nudity), it is out in the UK. If you're looking for that UK Version in the States, Gogamer.com has it -- but, they're out of it right now, currently. They do take Pre-Orders for it, though. But, w/ the Witcher Enhanced Edition coming around the corner, you might want to see what version CDPR submits to the ESRB and PEGI for the Enhanced Edition and see how that actually gets rated...B/c I'll bet, if the US don't get Enhanced Edition UNCUT and it is censored here, I'll bet you again the UK WILL get Enhanced Edition UNCUT -- and that Gogamer.com will probably again be selling the UK version Witcher Enhanced UNCUT, knowing it will be in demand here in the States. The game is rated-M, even with the content removed. So technically only "adults" can purchase the game. So anyone who can purchase and play the game is already old enough to see any of the content that's been placed in the game. I understand the ESRB is what drives most companies to remove content for us stupid americans, forcing content to be removed just to see an "M" rating. They did it to Manhunt 2. I assume that's why it was removed from the Witcher. If that is the case, try to find a "loophole", so to speak. Movies do it constantly. Once it's released on dvd, they have an "unrated" version that's for sale, with stuff they weren't allowed to throw in theatres. Maybe we can have "The Witcher - Unrated", haha, bad joke, but decent idea, assuming it's the ESRB in question.I guess my point is, I work in retail, and am in charge of a video game section. Surprisingly, most parents won't buy their kids games with too much violence, and the people I know who have bought copies of The Witcher are old enough, and mature enough(hopefully), to see all the content that was intended. I'll still buy the game whether or not the content is there, but I really do hope you decide to include it for us. A good game is a work of art, and shouldn't be altered, so we can see it for exactly how the artists intended us to.![]()
Eriash...Do you mean "everything" as in just the in-game extras ONLY?Or do you mean "everything" as in-game extras and the Enhanced Edition BOXED non-game extras (such as the music, the map, etc)???So, when you mean "everything," does that mean all current owners of The Witcher game will be able to download, at some date in time...--ALL 29 OST Music Tracks in a downloadable format (such as in MP3, OGG)?--ALL 15 Inspirated Tracks in a downloadable format (such in MP3, OGG)?--The Andrzej Sapkowski short story in a downloadable format (such as DOC or PDF)?--The Developer's Guide in a downloadable format (such as DOC or PDF)?--The Enhanced Edition manual in a downloadable format (such as DOC or PDF)?Eriash said:,EVERYTHING will be available to download. there won't be any "missing" things for the "first" game version owners.Eriash said:Eriash said:All of the new content will be downloadable, including new code and graphics.yes yes they have said you can download the mod kit and download the extra missions... but that does not compensate us for the missing code and graphics!Sure. Very nice, thanks for the information regarding it. Only reason I posted that was just to give them some feedback from an american gamer, in hopes it helps them determine which route they want to go with it. But if it does end up being censored like it's previous version, I at least know where to get a better copy, so cheers!!!MysterD said:But, w/ the Witcher Enhanced Edition coming around the corner, you might want to see what version CDPR submits to the ESRB and PEGI for the Enhanced Edition and see how that actually gets rated...B/c I'll bet, if the US don't get Enhanced Edition UNCUT and it is censored here, I'll bet you again the UK WILL get Enhanced Edition UNCUT -- and that Gogamer.com will probably again be selling the UK version Witcher Enhanced UNCUT, knowing it will be in demand here in the States.
As for today there will be all content available for download. Everything that will be printed should be available in downloadable format.MysterD said:Eriash...Do you mean "everything" as in just the in-game extras ONLY?Or do you mean "everything" as in-game extras and the Enhanced Edition BOXED non-game extras (such as the music, the map, etc)???So, when you mean "everything," does that mean all current owners of The Witcher game will be able to download, at some date in time...--ALL 29 OST Music Tracks in a downloadable format (such as in MP3, OGG)?--ALL 15 Inspirated Tracks in a downloadable format (such in MP3, OGG)?--The Andrzej Sapkowski short story in a downloadable format (such as DOC or PDF)?--The Developer's Guide in a downloadable format (such as DOC or PDF)?--The Enhanced Edition manual in a downloadable format (such as DOC or PDF)?MysterD said:,EVERYTHING will be available to download. there won't be any "missing" things for the "first" game version owners.MysterD said:MysterD said:All of the new content will be downloadable, including new code and graphics.yes yes they have said you can download the mod kit and download the extra missions... but that does not compensate us for the missing code and graphics!Sure. Yeah to me too it seems unlogical financially... but I'm sure that if CD Projeckt made that move, it must be "safe". The number of copies of the game sold must be enough to give dome margin I think...It doesn't make much sense financially, which is why we usually see one or two patches for a game.
I'm pretty sure that it will be possible, as one of the mods is supposed to be somehow an intro to how to use D'jinni. For more information please check this part of our forum -> http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?board=87.0As for other language versions of addons, it all depends on foreign publishers. And the talking is still on. So please, be patient for a little longerskelektron said:i've also two questions: will be possible to modify the new mods using the editor included with EE for translating them in other languages? will the instruction booklet, the official guide and the short story translated in italian and other languages?
