A Postcard from Vizima

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words – in that case, this news is worth three thousand words or at least a bottle of beer :) You ask why ? Let me tell you – recently we’ve figured out that maybe it’s time to show the world what we are working on - otherwise it is likely that you are going to tear us to shreds. Because we got used to being alive and what’s more I’ve already made some plans for holidays, we have for you this year’s first set of screens from The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf.Enter the gallery and see for yourself whether there’s any truth to that saying.GALLERY

Just going to point out that if you're going to buy a console only to play this game, you'd be better off with the cheapest 360 version (arcade edition i think it's called?)I'd recommend the ps3 though if you have a 1080p TV and would buy bluray movies :)

The only problem with the Arcade system (aside from no back compatibility with Xbox games) is the 256MB memory unit. Can fill that up easily with different game saves.

The problem is even bigger with the new dashboard (which is heavier than 256 MB), so at the very beginning you have have buy HDD.Xbox Premium is fine and it's still one of the cheapest consoles on the market.

oooh :) I shall have to be partaking of this tasty lil' morsel when I'm not constricted by an eeePC screen (greetings from Melbourne, by the way  ). In the meantime, I will scroll :)

Ah i didn't realize that. I upgraded my original 360 premium to a new model premium when they added the HDMI socket, a must if you have a 1080p TV 8)

Ah, the dashboard, yes... Didn't know it used that much memory though. And also, I don't see why so much fuss about it. I personally liked the older version more. Then again, I don't really need my console to have my friends avatars in cool clothing, I just need it to load whatever game I want to play and preferably show no red rings or make noises like it's chewing on the disc...

Well seeing that this got a bit off topic :eek:I mite as well join in on the fun :angel:The Graphic would look grate on HD that for sure Over the Xmas I picked up a Xbox pro just over 300$ CAN. that came with a 60g hard drive as well as 2 wire less controllers stuff to hook up to a HD the Arcade is good And if you want you can add a hard drive to it if you want to shell out a extra 75-150$ (Depending on how many Gig you want) wiich still not to bad if only you just want to play and dont hook up to no HD.And didi510 the old Red ring of Death dose not happen as much with the latter models of Xbox I find that ppl that keep it upright and have no real air flow in it have that trouble

Yeah, it wasn't a red ring, it was 1/4 of a ring and the crunch-crunch-crunch sound. Fortunately, extended warranty. Thing is, we called in to some call center in India... and found out it would take 21 days for a replacement, and we would have to provide our own shipping materials.Pissed as I was, I happened to get a reviewable from Microsoft... and told them I couldn't do it for another month, because the console needed repairing. Thanks to a very nice person over there who phoned me right back, we got the packaging and a 2 week wait instead.HD owns, HDMI cables are pricy though. But what can I say, I love my 360. And we got the Elite because my husband decided to get me a $450 iPod 2 Xmas ago, and I was really mad. Because I wouldn't use it. So I told him to return it and get store credit to buy an Elite instead :) At least that, we both use and enjoy. I can't wait to play RotWW on it - and this tv ;) It's going to rock my socks off. Or my feet, if I'm not wearing socks.Where in Canada are you, Seeker?
