Witchers where never really trained in stealth. In Kaer Morhen they where taught open combat, because their main goal was to free the world of monsters - stealth does not apply when dealing with these type of foes.

Hope this helps!

Yeah but i heard Ciri in the beginning of the game say something about waiting for the moment when advantage would be at its full effect.....and doesnt stealth offer a means to that end.

Thanks to Skyrim every RPG is expected to allow it's main character to become an archmage, master assasin, ultimate warrior, and hawkeyed archer at once. On a serious note, I think stealth elements would be anti-Geralt. He's not the type of character who would stab someone in the back, or kill them in their sleep. Witcher 3 is also probably the only modern RPG without the mandatory assassination (direct involvement) and bank heist type quests which would require sneaking around. Plus

Yeah dude s'pose I did have skyrim in the back of my head (was a bit of a fanboy) and I did the "assasin" build a lot, but, like the TC pertained to, I often think it'd be cool to slice bandit's (even guard's) throats one by one without them even knowing it instead of heads flying all over the place!

Thanks for the reply mate. Good job I'm not a witcher then 'cos there wouldn't be any open combat for me; I'd be hiding in the bushes being all 'stealthy' well away from those monstrosities from the bowels of hell you guys created!;)

Probably further down the line CDPR will do another witcher game, this time with character creation. Should this happen clearly it is cat school witcher for you, buddy ;)

AFAIK there is no stealth (is there even a crouch?) in TW3. But, you can use Axii if seen by a guard and that should buy you enough time to move away, or at least kill said guard.
