A Random Assortment of Suggestions for the Next Cyberpunk Game

New Damage Types

  • Cryo/Cold damage - Freezing enemies would be pretty neat. With a proc that can slow down enemies movement/attack speed and potential to freeze enemies solid for a temporary disable, whilst also making them more susceptible to explosive/blunt damage that can shatter them.
  • Cyber/Digital damage - Non-physical damage that attacks cyberware directly. Deals more damage to more heavily modified individuals/limbs. While providing bonus effect chances (Disabling hit cyberware, uploading quickhacks similar to Gris-Gris etc). The caveat being that it won't work on unchipped targets (Beware of any Buddhist Monk gangs!)
New Weapon Types

  • Bows - Something that can help fulfil that "Cyber Samurai" fantasy. Futuristic bows could be super cool. Especially with potential for different arrow types, with different damage types and effects. They would also fit quite well into the 3 tech types - Power bows with great richochet potential (Hanzo Scattershot anyone?), Tech bows with great charge bonuses penetrating through enemies and obstacles and of course Smart bows with sick arrow curving power.
  • Heavy Ordinance - Grenade Launchers, RPG's, Rocket Launchers and all the things that will make Mr Torgue happy. Again, these could have some fun interactions with different tech types.

New Cyberware

  • Optical Camo as Operating System Cyberware - Since OS Cyberware is the strongest and most impactful type due to its competition with other extremely potent options (Berserk, Sandy and Cyberdecks are all really powerful), moving Optical Camo to the OS slot would better enable its true strength. It could passively activate when crouched and undetected without using charge and gain the additional effects from skills as higher tier versions were obtained (Active while grappling, active while crouch sprinting/sliding). In addition, there could be options for different manufacturers of the system that provides different bonuses, such as bonuses for takedowns/ranged weapons/thrown weapons/melee weapons, manufacturers that focus instead on the active ability, either with better mitigation or a focus on its use as a combat escape tool.
  • A Tech Themed Operating System Cyberware - With aforementioned Optical Camo moving to OS, we'd have the basis of an OS themed around all stats besides Tech (Berserk - Body, Sandy - Reflex, Cyberdeck - Int and Camo - Cool). So something Tech themed could be neat. As a suggestion I'd say something like a "Cyberware Management Unit" that provides a passive boost to cyberware stats and effects, with an active ability that resets all cooldowns (All cyberware abilities, all health items/consumables get full charges)
  • Cool Themed Arms Cyberware - Much like the prior suggestion, we have arm cyberware themed around each of the stats besides Cool (Since the 2.0 change to Monowire from Cool based to Int based). A suggestion would be some sort of grappling hook that would enable ranged grabs on enemies and also bonus verticality (Especially if using stuff like Lynx Paws for better stealthing at the cost of vertical mobility from Fortified Ankles/Reinforced Tendons). It's also possible that such a thing could also have functionality as a thrown weapon too.
New Consumables

  • Mines - We see them around Night City. So why not allow us to use them? A replacement for the Grenade slot that gives us access to various types of mines. From Proximity to Triplasers, with different effects like explosive damage, fire damage, chemical damage to more stealthy things like distracting/disorientating enemies. Allowing us ways to set up creative traps before engaging in combat (Or ways to pick off patrolling enemies without entering combat at all!"
  • Deployables - Mini-turrets, Drones and Flathead style bots. Another grenade alternative that allows us to get some little buddies that help out in combat, providing damage and a distraction.
  • Drugs - We have a few consumable drugs available in CP2077 (Namely Black Lace). There's options to have a grenade replacement that is various types of drug inhalers to provide temporary ability boosts, with of course side effects (Like how Black Lace cuts your health pool in half while active. Different drugs can have different side effects like penalties when it wears off)
