Filip Zenisek (Czech translator) just wrote on his twitter account that he is translating a quest with an old known character...according his opinion this character is better than Shani and he is looking forward to spend some time with that character....
That is, assuming the (unnamed) old familiar character is really Fringilla. But mentioning Shani may be a hint at that.

Dunno, He was unfairly OP in the books, could have been a major antagonist for the main storyline rather than for expansions. Too relevant for that IMO, but maybe they wanna give us some mainquest-line like story. But, Vilgefortz=presence of Cirilla, which we already know is unlikely.Huh... another short haired chick. True, but remember what he said about drowning everything Geralt holds dear in "blood and wine"? Also, remember the false Ciri situation? There are many possibilities to bring even dead characters from the books back in an imaginative way.

When did he say this? i have heard this quote several times now but nobody could provide any source so far. It's certainly not in the german version of the books (as far as I remember). It doesn't seem to be in the english one as well. Someone on another forum wrote that this quote exists in the polish version of the books and just wasn't translated. Can anybody confirm it?
People also speculate that one person who "defeated" O'Dimm before was Vilgefortz, because apparently the description matches him.
But again, I played the dlc two times and didn't find anybody describing the looks/characteristics of that person.
I would actually love Vilgefortz as the main antagonist and I think there would be a plausible way to bring him back. If the person who "defeated" O'Dimm before was indeed Vilgefortz, than that means that they know each other and O'Dim could have a special interest in Vilgefortz.. When Vilgefortz died and his soul went to hell (assuming O'Dimm is the devil) they could have made a deal. O'Dimm brings Vilgefortz back to life and Vilgefortz works for him.

Apparently it's a chapter quote that wasn't translated, but I can't verify it, since I don't own the polish books.
The O'Dimm theory is nice too, since it would neatly explain how Vilgefortz (and maybe even Regis) get back to land of the living... then again, I doubt CDPR would link those two DLCs together like that, since you might not want to play them in order...

Heh, it reminds me how CDPR at one point wanted to make Rience clone one of the main villains in The Witcher 1. He supposed to be cloned from the fingers that Ciri cutted off. But they gave up on the idea and replaced him with Azar Javed, which also explains why they have the exact same backstory (similar scenario happened with Iorveth replacing Isengrim in The Witcher 2).
Yea, I am hoping for post-epilogue as well, but would be happy with whatever they do since their work is great anyways. The only gripe I have is the parchment type epilogue telling what happened to everyone. I would rather have seen a nice cutscene and some interaction with Triss patching me up in Kovir, as I love her voice actor's voice.
How in the world could it be post-epilogue? Would Geralt still be alive? Would Ciri? Who would have won the war in this post-epilogue world -- Redania or Nilfgaard? There are far too many variables for it to be set in a post-epilogue world, just as there were when the decision was made to drop the player back at Kaer Morhen just prior to that final quest. It would be impossible and extremely unlikely for B&W to be set there.
