About performance

Hi guys. I have an issue about the performance of the long awaited The Witcher 2 on my PC. I know that you guys at CDPR pushed the graphics as a PC-exclusive (for now) and I'm very pleased with the looks of the game, but I'm very afraid it won't run properly on my PC, because of my graphics card and that's what has stopped me from pre-ordering it already. My specs are:Windows7 x64Intel Quad Core Q8400 2.6ghzGeforce 9600 GT4gb ram DDR2As you can see, my graphics card is below requirements. So, I have some questions:Were that the final game requirements? Will it be quad core compatible, with proper use of the 4 or more cores? Will there be a demo? Now, I know this isn't the proper place to discuss it but, Call of Duty Black Ops was released and I've got it recently. Thing is, it also asks for a 8800GT or better in the game requirements and surprisingly for me, the game ran just fine with max settings and even 2xAA. I heard that quad core makes all the difference about this game.I think you guys can understand my concerns. I don't wanna get frustrated pre-ordering a very expected game and then at launch discover that it doesn't run properly. I know I should upgrade my graphics card but I don't have plans of doing it for now. I would be very pleased with a demo to be able to measure the game's performance on my PC (I think others would too) or a word from the developers.Thank you for the attention.

They didn't even start optimization , i can practically guarantee you that your PC will run Witcher 2 on medium settings flawlessly, And i am sure that Witcher 2 will support quad core cpu's BTW video cards are not that expensive , maybe you would consider to upgrade your GPU and then take advantage of all the beauty Witcher 2 has to offer ;]

Yeah I know =[I need money to buy a new gpu asap. But I really wished I could run it well on my current config. I think they should push the graphics but also make it accessible. I'm thinking more Starcraft 2 and less Crysis/Metro 2033, you know? Anyway, I'll be happy if I can run on a good quality (close to max and 2xAA) and at steady 30fps. I'm not a graphics whore. Thanks anyway.

I'm pretty sure my ati 4670 will run the game just fine on med-high settings...but thats not good enough. Not for TW2I MUST MAX THE SETTINGS FOR TW2Therefore, I shall be upgrading. :)

I guess for me if CDPR includes DirectX 11 then i`ll upgrade the GPU otherwise i`ll stick with the Nvidia 200 series

Afair, 9600gt is only slightly slower than 8800gt, by 10% or so.

You can't have it both ways - great graphics and low systems req's.Expecting to max out a brand new PC game (PC only too) with 2xAA and 30fps on a 9600GT is very ambitious if you ask me. That is not to say that the game shouldn't be scalable. People with low end cards should get to play the game, but people with high end cards should get to max them out.

I can run it here on mostly high and some ultra specs with and the action rarely, rarely going below 30fps on campaign (it depends on the map). On multiplayer maps it stays mostly at 60, and if you ask me Starcraft 2 is one the most beautiful games out there.
