About the best weapon in the game

Is the best weapon in the game the "G'valchir" AKA " Mahakaman rune sihill"? G'valchir stats:StatsDamage + 100%Penetrates opponent armour.Looks like a broadsword. Or are there better weapons with less damage but better chances of causing critical effects?

Well another one very good is Gwalhir. But for the completed list of weapons in the game you can check here-Of course this concerns only the steel swords. The best silver sword is Aerondight. Or you can assemble a rune silver sword and have a good result the same (but not as good as owning Aerondight).

I don't know ... Aerondight is awesome for specials, but for a mage not so much.'cos I only use the silver sword for a few finishing blows (usually with strong silver), so specials are largely irrelevant.I'd have to say, for a caster, the Moonblade is the best by the numbers. However, just like the rune sihill, you don't get much time with these weapons.Personally, the 'best' swords in the game, considering how much time I spent using them, is the 3R meteorite for steel, and the (normal) silver sword. With appropriate use of oils, runestones, or whetstones, those swords are fine.I think I used spectre oil in act 1, diamond dust in act 2, and perun runestone in acts 3, 4, and 5.The +60% damage and +60% to hit is simply amazing .. to the point that I camped a shop to buy a dozen peruns (one available every 24 hours).

In my opinion there is no best sword in the game. It varies how you skill Geralt. You have the chance to adhance types of damage (pain, knockdown, stun, etc.) with the combat styles. For example (steel sword) if you use talents in 'Half spin' (group) or 'Hail of blows' it gives you more damage (it doesn't stack) with each hit. And if you then use G'valchir with additional +100%... well, I would say 'very nice'Though 'Penetrates opponent armour' is always welcomed for the Temerian tin-soldiers.I advice to check how you skilled Geralt and then use a suitable sword to his skills :)

Everyone knows Geralt's "sword" is the most potent weapon in the game. Just ask Triss.

*chuckle* Good one!Personally, I like the swords that cause pain more than the swords that do extra damage. Group style on a bunch of Salamandra with a pain-causing sword, and they double over in pain and stop fighting, allowing Geralt to kill them at his leisure. Big groups of human enemies become much more manageable when the first blow makes half of them stop fighting!

Oh, yes, bleeding is very nice! I knew there was one I liked in addition to pain, but I was in a hurry and couldn't remember it. Bleeding. Yay, bleeding. :)
