About the Geralt's moveset !

What do you like more: W1's extremal yet very beautiful and cool moveset!
or W2's less stylised but still awesome moves!

I just hope controls are going to be responsive. Not "five seconds of animation bullshit every time you press a button".
Not really a fan of the "awesome button" syndrome.

Anyway, comparatively, I found the TW2 moveset more likable and less over the top.

It's confirmed by the devs that it's not the case anymore with TW3. One button press = one swing/move.

What no The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt moves poll option? I am pretty sure a lot of people will like it's moves when it is released in 2014. CD Projekt RED said there will be like 92 move combinations :D.

Well many animations may be for walking, running, sitting, etc
Not all will be devoted for combat!

I voted "I don't care" because both had its advantages and disadvantages.
As long as there are "builds" so I can tweak my Geralt to my liking and all the systems support that I am happy.
The biggest appeal to me in both Witcher games were the beautiful world, characters and decisions, not the combat.
For combat represeting both ends of the spectrum I have DarkSouls and now: Shadow Warrior.

The combat in TW2 was GOOD. It wasnt perfect but it was fun. But if it will be more organic in TW3 as they say it is, less fancy roll animations and more responsiveness and involvement of the player it will be perfect.

i so thought this thread had a different point.. debate on hand to hand combat, jumping, climbing, interacting with objects, uses of signs in battle, outside of battle, in conversation like persuasion, intimidate, "aard to the face" and other options not just number of animations/button press

I like W2 style more - W1 was good, but for me that was just waiting on yellow icon most of the time.. (maybe I played that wrong :D )

im pretty surprised the difference between TW1 and 2 is so small, i was expecting TW1 to be well ahead, since it recreates much better the main concept and idea of the witcher combat style.

TW2's move set is cool, but its just too common and ordinary compared to what was described in the books.

Well, we do know the combat is supposed to be more dance-like in TW3, so that should be OK. I just hope for more fluid walking/running/turning/dialogue animations, those were pretty generic and clumsy in TW2.
In terms of style, I would like to see something between the first and the second game. TW1's animations were unique and memorable (I cannot say that about TW2), that's for sure, but they looked silly occasionally.

I dont like how Geralt moves in TW2 at all. The way he run with and without sword looks weird. It could be done much better. TW1 was far from perfect as well.

The risk with one press = one action is that things may get repetitive. I'm interested to see how TW3 will allow us to mix up attacks so it doesn't feel like a traditional hack n' slash game.

I prefer W1 style over W2 style. I had more control over Gerald's moves and his character in W1, at least that's my impression. In W2 I had plenty of situations where Gerald goes into direction which I didn't want (during combat especially)

Yeah, well, I know that's the claim. I'm just saying I hope it works well and feels good.
"One button press=One swing" is a good start, but that doesn't necessarily address unresponsiveness and input lag, which were a bit of a problem with the previous games.
