Achievements: "Finish the game"?

So what counts as "finishing the game" for the purposes of the achievements "Passed the Trial," "Ran the Gauntlet," and "Walked the Path"? Finished my first playthrough on DM difficulty about a month ago after a leisurely stroll through the witcher 3 world, and for a long time my achievements didn't work at all, which then as I understand they sorta-kinda fixed with a patch, so today I loaded up my postgame save and immediately received The King is Dead (defeat the final boss) but none of the "finish the game" achievements.

Luckily for me I kept a manual save right before getting on the boat with Avallach to the war camp and starting the game's final sequence, so I loaded that up (making sure it was still on DM by attempting to set the difficulty lower and ensuring the warning still popped up) and played through the last 20 minutes of the game again, smacking around the Wild Hunt and completing the epilogue quest right up to the credits. But still I didn't get any of the "finish the game" achievements.

Do I also need to finish all sidequests/contracts? Are achievements simply still bugged (playing on steam, btw)? I noticed talking to Avallach at the war camp to start On Thin Ice (the final battle) causes Reason of State to fail even though I already completed it earlier, there seems to be numerous other people complaining about that particular bug so I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it.

You don't have to do any of the secondary or the side quests as they do not count towards the achievements. Just finishing the main story quests gets you 'Passing the Trial' achievement. If you play on blood & broken bones you get 'Passing the Trial' & 'Ran the Gauntlet' if you play on DM you get 'Walked the Path' & 'Ran the Gauntlet' & 'Passing the Trial'. For the last two you must set the difficulty level before you start a new game via the menu not after it or it won't count towards the achievement & if for any reason you change the difficulty level as you play even once you can't get the achievement. If your not even getting 'Passed the trial' after you have completed all main quests then your save file is bugged & you will have to start again.

You can't earn achievements because it's broken, again.

Wait for the fix and pray that they don't break other things.

We've fixed the achievements problem. There should be an update available for download.

After the update 1.08.4 I was able to retroactively get the "Passed The Trial" achievement. However I am still not able to get the "Armed and Dangerous" (I should have all sets of all witcher gears and I tried to equip every set several times but it didn't give me the achievement). I have reached level 35 during patch 1.07 and am not able to get the "Munchkin" as well. The last one that I am not getting is "Mutant". If I understand correctly, I have all four mutagen slots occupied, I tried to reequip all of them but did not get the achievement.

I for one am rejoicing, loaded up my postgame DM save just now and immediately received all three achievements: Passed the Trial, Ran the Gauntlet, and Walked the Path. Thanks a million for your support!
