[ACT I] Can't fight all the opponents in Fistfighting..

I'm in Act 1, in the Inn. I've fought a bunch of opponents including Big Fred and won. However, I cant fight the "Tough Fighter" for some reason. Is there a reason why?

Some are just part of the crowd I think - not all of them will fight which is normal. That I can be sure of.

I get the same problem, I think he just knows he'll get his arse kicked.

As long as you defeat the main guy of the fistfighter gang you are on the save side

I defeated the weak fighter and Fat Fred, but I can't defeat any of the others. They get to 50% health and I can no longer attack them. I can click with the fist icon, but nothing happens. Is that normal or is it a bug? I've tried about 4 times now.

If you give them time to rest (try to sleep or do something else) some others will fight while those will recover... Then you will have new ones to fight

That's not what I meant. I can start the fight and start punching away same as I did for Fat Fred and the weak fighter, but when their health gets down to around 50%, Geralt stops punching. I have to either run away or get defeated. I still have plenty on my health and stamina bar, so I don't know why he stops.

Sorry for necroing this thread. No matter how much I bet on any of the fistfighting opponents, all of them would turn me down(except for Fat Fred whom I beat). Anyone knows why? I even thought it's 'cos I didn't have any skill in fistfighting so I put a point in Brawl and went back but still no change.
