[ACT I] She's no early Bird (Vesna)

+
I had same problem--waiting at that damn mill--she never showed so, I did the quest in the cave for the dead guy and checked back still no show. So I did the quest for Ramsmeat and checked back--still no show. Again did another quest--monster of the lake--checked back my timing was impeccable there she was! This is a couple of days later mind you so I'm thinking she won't go near the place til you kill that damn monster of the lake which happens to be near the mill. ???

Is it generally assumed she died with the rest of the villagers? or escaped somehow, because i kinda felt bad. :-[
I feel bad about most of the villagers, especially the kind old ladies whom I fed in exchange for information about the local herbs and monsters. :( Since their fate is uncertain, I just "pretend" they all escaped into their respective houses, barred the doors from the inside and waited until things quieted down in the morning. Next time I'll try to enter a few houses and see whether they're inside before heading off to Vizima city gates.
Uh, yah, Geralt told the Reverend to keep everyone indoors. Some of em did listen. My third go on ACT I , I got curious and checked in houses and found grandma along with some other residents still alive.

I'm glad not all the resident of the village died, so anyone find Vesna in any of the houses? How about the children Geralt saved? Are they safe too? :p

I guess the developers left those issues open for interpretation. I actually like it when it's a little ambiguous.

Vesna's grandma survives, so it's a good bet she did too. If you go into grandma's house after killing the Beast, granny's sitting there, right as rain.

Also she speaks, that will soon become a grandgrandma. So i'm assuming Vesna is alive. :) Besides, there is another door in her grandma's house, that is locked and what is beyound, is unknown. After the battle with the Beast, all houses in the town (save for Reverend's, of course ) are still inhabited. Which could not be said about the village.

here is a little trick i just figured out the other day. Concerning vesna and escorting her home.first got do the haren brogg quest by the waterfront, once that is clear got to town and light all the candles from the revs house to the spot outside of the inn where you run into the toughs harrasing vesna. at this point you only need one candle lit. deal with the toughs and then take vesna from the inn to the last shrine over by the path that leads to the crypt. then just follow road like you are going to mikul's post and escort vesna by the already cleared waterfront (by doing haren brogg's mission first the waterfront is cleared) and walah bada bing there is town and a short run to her grandmas house.enjoy ;)Asai

ok this is how i did it with a minimum of fuss. i am a quest stacker so this way completed 4 quests in one night. the drowner contract for the revI think it is trouble at the docks? Haren brogg quest where you meet the scoi'tellighting the shrines for the revand escorting vesna home.I do apologize that i can not give you the actual names of the quests but i hope the descriptions will be close enough.i meditated by the waterfront till midnight and headed out.First do the haren brogg quest and clear the waterfront. then head to town and start lighting shrines with the first one right by chapel. follow the path through the village lighting shrines as you go. by the time you have lit the 4th shrine you should be close to the vesna encounter with only one shrine left to light located where the path leading to the crypts is. with vesna following head to the last shrine, the barghets you have to deal with is alot less than the number you have to fight trying to drag her through the village. once you have lit the last shrine just head to the waterfront and pass by haren broggs again and wala vesna is home. the waterfront is already clear having done that before you headed out to lite the shrines. all in all i encountered 6 total barghest with vesna in tow. A few notes i am version 1.3 and playing on medium, i hope this hepls ;)Asai

Anybody else wonder who made Vesna pregnant? :-\ I was thinking that even though Witchers are supposed to be infertile, maybe Geralt being resurrected from the Dead has somehow become fertile again  That would mean (according to the way I played Geralt ]:-> he, he, hee.) There will be a whole lot of little Geralt's running around soon.

I was doing Vesna's quest in parallel with lighting the shrines, but completed it earlier (that is, I placed four candles while escorting Vesna then placed the last one after that quest was over). Next evening I hadn't yet done Strangers in the Night, so there was no Nadir by that time, then, I don't remember exactly, if I got the remains of Leuvaarden friend before or after meeting with Vesna(I think, that was right before), but surely she was there around 20 or 21. Another time (that was back in the demo version) i've completed Brogg's quest, so Nadir was hanging around already, but that didn't impede Vesna's intentions. And I've killed him after the meeting. So, no, that isn't the case.

This is just a vague theory about Vesna Hood from the outskirts, but when I had to make my decision for the first time to save her or let the peasants kill her, I choosed the second and she died quite fast, the interesting thing is that I found in her remains a bouquet of red roses, pretty wierd to go home from the inn in the middle of the night with flowers on her, I am thinking that maybe some man gaved them to her and this could mean that Geralt could actually not the first man who dates like that, and she may not be such a decent girl like she claimed she was in the first place, I'm not sure, like I sayed this is just a theory and may not be true, but still, there could be a chance for Geralt not to be the first one, I mean it's in a way a subject to think about it, she couldn't have taken the bouquet from those peasents that agressed her, neither got them from a garden cause I saw no roses in the inn area, btw I was playing the original version, not Enhanced one, thought I should let you guys know about this in case you are curious if Geralt could be the first one.

hmm wheres the mill im suposed to meet the barmaid at at the end of the shes no early bird quest? she says to meet her with a bottel of wine at sundown (if its already dark do i just wait till the next day?) at the old mill but i dont know where that is

i didn't see this thread.. and even after flipping through it every post seems to be about her bugging and not showing up, im trying to figure out where the mill itself is

Have you checked the north bank of the river, by the city walls?
From the village where the Rev's house is, head north towards the city gate over the river, then turn right onto the north bank. The mill is there about halfway between the 2 guard posts into the city.
