I had the same problem. The solution: remove any mods you might be running, i.e. clear out the "override" folder.

I've got the same problem, but have never installed any mods. Don't have an override directory. Any other solutions?

Any directory in your data folder starting with an underscore?

I can push (push animation) invisible him (just see his name using the ALT key) outside the chapel. He's not in his bed or home at night. When I use ALT in his house at night his name just appears over the door to exit. I went back to a save before I left kaer morhen. Sped through to see if the reverend was there and same thing. His name just hangs in the air using the ALT key. He's not there, no way to talk to him. ???

What exactly did you do to fix this?

I'd check the In-Game Tech forum, this sounds like a bug and it also sounds kinda familiar, so the fix might be posted there as well :peace:Edit i have this vague recollection of the Override folder causing problems since EE ... have you tried moving that folder out of the Data path in your game installation ?

Ok :-[ I'm really curious what is this override folder? :-[EDIT: Thanks game widow. This makes more sense to me now!

it's a folder that "lives" under your data folder in the game and you put files in there that you would like the game engine to use instead of the default files it already uses. Plenty of mods for the game require the use of this folder :)

I have this very problem but the solution eludes me. I do not have an Overide folder. I do have some files that begin with an underscore. In the backup "DATA" folder I created before I added some mods the same files begin with an underscore. I have a legit copy of the original game, downloaded the EE. What is the signifigance of the underscore files?

Regarding the 'override' folder, if there isn't one already in your 'data' folder, create a new folder in 'data' and name it 'override' (without the quotes). This instructs the game to use whatever is in the 'override' folder to bypass files with the same name.In other words, the game loads up all the regular files, then checks the 'override' to see if there are any files, and uses those when running the game instead of the regular files.Hence the word override.~ Roxy

If your data backup folder also starts with an underscore, it will be used as an override as well. Mods run either via Override or via _FOLDERNAME.

I am getting the feeling that I am getting only partial answers here. I am advised that I should create an override folder in the DATA folder. What should go in it? The files that are in the present DATA folder? These are modified files. Should I also reinstate the original files (presently in my backup folder not accessible by the game) back in to the DATA the folder since it would be empty after moving DATA file contents into the override folder? I am not trying to be difficult here, I just think that there is alot of assumed knowledge in the advice I am getting. To make one point clear. My DATA folder does not start with an underscore, the files within it do. The original files from the DATA folder backedup and stored elsewhere on my hard drive also start with an underscore.

are you using one of the mods that is downloadable from the official witcher site ? If so, which one? if we knew that, we could tell you exactly which files belong in an override folder (if indeed you need one! you might not)we can only help as well as we are informed.

The Mod I have installed is from www.thewitcherworld.com and it uncensors the game. I do not believe it is an official mod. I will gladly share any information needed to solve the problem. I do not doubt the sincerity of the assistance offered.

Somehow the point is missed here. No you do not need an override folder nor do you need to put anything in one. The files that uncensor the game are going to have the same name as the ones originally in the data folder otherwise the game program would not find them. Thus, very important to make a backup folder for original files and maybe a notepad readme to remind you what they are for. Back to original problem--the Reverend is transparent and appears to be missing. This is a bug but, not sure why you get it. Happened to me at one point but, came back later on a different gaming session and he was there.EDIT: If anyone has installed a mod that may have caused this problem then you might want to remove the mod and put the original files back. If the mod put an "Override" folder with files in it into the data directory(folder) then remove it--place it somewhere else temporarily--and try game to see if bug goes away. Usually, the mods will put the Override directory in so that original files are still there but not used. So, Override directory can be removed to revert back to original files.
