@SpiritualistThat's not true .. my most recent game, I gave haren's goods over, and did all the Coleman stuff as soon as I left the sewers.Coleman's death is triggered by speaking to Raymond for the first time ..Also, if anyone cares, it's possible to complete the investigation without doing either autopsy or crypt .. by proving everyone innocent except Kalkstein.I think Ramsmeat is the trickiest one, so I'll provide some info here:You have to meet him (had to include this, 'cos you can prove some innocent before meeting them)You have to question Coleman about salamdra badges .. gets you the "his boys are jumpy" entry in the characters section.You have to talk to him about Berengar's gear, which you find out from speaking to Thaler.You also have to talk to him about his boys attacking the hospital.With all that info, play your cards right, and you'll get a "I think I've figured this out."

Have i made a huge mistake> i have to kill ramsmeat but i can't get into his house becuase i killed the 2 guards before i was acutally sopose to kill them for the key and i don't have the key to the house and the guards aren't there. Went back many times at night at different times and still no guards. Anyone got any ideas?

You begin in jail, wether you saved Abigail or not. I tried both on a couple of games.@Konnodle :End of investigation right ? Raymond asks you to kill Rammsmeat ? Well ... just pretend you did, it may work.(yes we all know Rammsmeat delivers 800+ Orens and a Yellow Meteorite but ...)

Yes. When you finally go back to Raymond to inform him about Ramsmeat'death (or pretend about it), you together, as "friends" (I like the sarcasm in Geralt's voice, telling "Yes ... friends ...."), think about the mage tower to lure the culprit, supposed to be Kalkstein, by example. That's when he gives you the 9th Sephira (well, the 9th for me, cuz you usually get all others before that point) and the last one will be delivered by the Golem (wich you don't want to fight, just use the pylons, run, cast Quen non stop ...)

Ok I have a problem :) I didn't do the autopsy at all, Found the Real Raymond dead in the crypt, told Azad I did the autopsy and told him I screwed it up and found no evidence.Went to all the other suspects and cleared all of them. so did I blow it ?

Hey,I've read all the pages in this thread, and haven't found a situation similar to mine, so here goes; Coleman is dead, so is Ramsmeat. I've also pissed Vincent so much off that he gives me the "one more word and you are off to the dungeon" reply. My autopsy pointed at Kalkstin as the guilty one, and I have pressed him so much that he tells me to get lost now. Thaler won't talk to me untill i clear his name, but can't seem to do that. No option in the dialouge whatsoever. So haven't been to the crypts yet, because I can't get there, no one will give me acces. So, my question is, can I fix this somehow? The only one I have cleard is Vivaldi. I have grown suspicious of Raymond, but right now he is just waiting for me at the tower. Can I clear the rest somehow and get into the crypts before i open the tower? I have been to Shanis party, and she told me about Thaler, but still nothing.

Did you notice a mysterious figure skulking around in the shadows near Thaler's house? If you didn't, wait until you do, then talk to the guy, then talk to Thaler. Depending on which choices you made up to that point, it may give you a chance to declare him innocent. It worked for me once, though I seem to remember that it didn't help on another run through the game. Can't hurt to try, though.

Well tahts the problem you see - seems I might have pushed everyone a bit too far over the edge. I did notice that man, but the only reply I get from him is "You didn't see me". I just want to make sure that I have no options left before i decide to either load from a much previous point or just play on as it is and forget the cementary and that part. It would be a shame, seeing as it is a significant part of this act.

Hm, in that case I'm afraid I can't help. You might try talking to Siegfried as Thaler suggested above, but I don't remember him being any help. Personally, I'd go back to an earlier save and redo the autopsy, but missing the cemetary part doesn't mean you're stuck - you'll just have to live with the consequences later.

Pre-Autopsy/CemetaryB. Autopsy/CemetaryC. Post-Autopsy/CemetaryThe first and third part is fairly linear. But there are many different ways to play the middle autopsy part.A. Pre-Autopsy/Cemetary----------------------------------0. In Chapter 1, if you let the squirrels take Harem Brogg's weapons while you were getting rid of the drowners on the shore, then Coleman will be killed as soon as you go to see the detective. But you can still access Coleman before you see the detective. Coleman gives a quest “The Rat” that you usually do later. It is not essential but can be quite helpful, so if you want to do this quest, you will have to talk to Coleman and do the quest first, before you go to see the detective. To get Coleman to give you “The Rat” quest, you must have gotten the “Hot Potato” quest from Harem Brogg in Chapter 1. If you have that quest, go to retrieve your stuff from Jethro and notice that the package is missing. Ask Jethro about it. Once you have done this, go to the Inn, talk to Coleman and ask him for work. Kill the wraiths in the abandoned home. Go back to the Inn. Coleman will be gone. Talk to innkeeper. Go to the dike. See what transpires. Vincent is now cleared. How you deal with Coleman at this point is entirely up to you and won’t impact your investigation. Although you may want to buy some fisstech from him as you’ll be needing some later.If in your game, Coleman is already dead, don’t worry about it. You can still keep playing, but you will not be able to prove that Vincent is innocent independently nor will Coleman be a source of fisstech. Keep in mind that proving Vincent's innocence independently is not critical to completing the investigation and you can get fisstech from dead Salamandra or by making it yourself.1. Talk to detective Raymond. He will tell you to go visit the witness in the jail. As you leave, you will be ambushed by Salamandra. It may be a good idea to keep at least 3 of the badges you find in the loot as you will need it later. If you are unprepared for battle, run west for help to the two guards if you need it.2. Go to the jail and talk to Jethro. If you haven't already, pick up your stuff and "ask questions" to get the messenger sent to the Inn at midnight for the "Wanted" quest. Jethro won't let you talk to the witness unless you give him fisstech. You can get fisstech 1) from Coleman at the Inn, 2) among the loot of Salamandra attackers, or 3) you can also make fisstech through alchemy (1 part vermilion, 1 part quebrith, 3 parts hydragenum with strong base (use White Gull as your base)). Return to Jethro give him the fisstech and he will tell you that the witness is in the hospital. While you're at it, ask who he confiscated the sword from.3. You will need to go to the hospital in the evening. To get into the hospital, either bribe the guards or get a ring from Vincent (see 11.5). If Siegfried is guarding the hospital, you can walk right in since he knows you aren't affected by the plague.4. Go inside and talk to the witness. Bribe the guards. You will be attacked by Ramsmeat's men.5. Go back to Raymond and he will tell you to perform an investigation. The first step is to gain Kalkstein's trust. 6. Go to Kalkstein's and talk to him. To gain his trust, you must get him two books. The books can be obtained from Vivaldi. (There is a duplicate copy of Ain Soph Aur in Gramp's hut in the swamp).7. Go to Vivaldi's and if you did not give the weapons to the squirrels in chapter 1, watch him get hauled off to jail. If he is sent to jail, go to the jail and pay his bail.8. Talk to him. He will give you the books for free if you paid his bail. Otherwise, buy the books from him.9. Read the books and go back to Kalkstein. You have now earned his trust.10. Go back to Raymond. As soon as you enter, you will be attacked by some Salamandra. Kill them.11. Raymond will now give you a list of people to investigate.These people are (1) Kalkstein, (2) Leuvaarden, (3) Ramsmeat, (4) Thaler, (5) Vincent and (6) Vivaldi. Actually, Raymond doesn't add Thaler to your list of journal quest entries. But Thaler is a suspect and will appear in your quest log if you have encountered him or asked Jethro about your sword. You should try to determine these people's innocence / guilt. Note that you don't *have* to prove everyone innocent. The only thing you need to do to advance the quest is to talk to Ramsmeat, Thaler and Leuvaarden. But you do not need to prove them completely innocent.11.1. Kalkstein: I don't think it's possible at this time to prove him innocent. All you can do is talk to him and either believe him or not. It doesn't really matter at this point.11.2. Leuvaarden: To clear his name you must complete the "Wanted" quest. This quest is triggered by talking to Jethro and asking about who is paying for Salamandra badges. Meet the messenger at midnight in the tavern. Drink him under the table and ask for work. He will give you Leuvaarden's name. Go to the dike (bring along 3 Salamandra badges). Complete the quest by giving him the 3 badges.11.3. Ramsmeat: I don't think it's possible at this time to prove him innocent. All you can do is talk to him and either believe him or not. It doesn't really matter at this point.11.4. Thaler: To clear his name, you need to notice a 'mysterious man' milling around his home after dark. You also had to have talked to Jethro and asked who he confiscated the sword from (will require fisstech to entice Jethro to talk). After that, talk to Thaler and *first*, ask him about your new sword. Now, ask him about his connection to Salamandra and believe everything he tells you. There should be three prompts to do so. After that, his name will be cleared. There is another way to clear Thaler's name, but it can't be done until after the autopsy is complete. Since it can't be done till that point, it will be described in part B.11.5. Vincent: To clear his name, you will need to complete two quests. First, go to the warehouse at midnight and clear out the Salamandra. I don't think it matters what you reply when you first enter the warehouse. Second, complete the "The Rat" quest given by Coleman (if he is still alive). Kill the wraiths in the abandoned home. Go back to the Inn. Coleman will be gone. Talk to innkeeper. Go to the dike. See what transpires. Vincent is now cleared. If you go back to Vincent and tell him he is innocent, he will give you a ring to get you into the hospital.11.6. Vivaldi: To clear his name, talk to Zoltan. Zoltan will tell you that Vivaldi has lost all his money. 12. After you have interviewed certain witnesses (Ramsmeat, Thaler, Leuvaarden), a little girl will tell you that Raymond wants to meet. Go to Raymond's house and he will tell you to conduct an autopsy. Part B: Autopsy/Cemetary-----------------------------------13. Talk to Shani in the evening at her home. Her grandmother will kick you out of the house sometimes. Just keep trying and try different responses to the various dialogues. One option that works is I am looking for Shandi / I am from the hospital. When you finally get to talk to Shani, make an appointment to do an autopsy in the evening. 14. Shani will tell you to collect info on autopsies. This is optional. But if you want more options during the autopsy, it is recommended you talk to Vincent and read the book on insects from the bookseller. Instead of reading the book, you can also talk to the Gardener about his mercenary days (he will want food as a gift). Reading the book and talking to the gardener accomplish the same thing. Reading the medical forensics book (from the bookseller) doesn't seem to have any impact over collecting no autopsy info at all. Talking to Vincent unlocks an autopsy option on "head/hands" while talking to the gardener about his mercenary days/reading the insect book will unlock the "neck / it can't be this easy" option during the autopsy. 15. Only by talking to Shani first can you convince the gravedigger to hand over the body. After talking to Shani, go to the cemetary gravedigger and bribe him with some Dwarven Ale (which can be purchased from the Inn waitress).At this point, you can play the game in several different ways and they all involve the same elements, doing the autopsy, going to the cemetery crypt, talking to Raymond and killing Ramsmeat. You can do any of the following:1. Cemetary Crypt2. Autopsy (optional)3. Talk to Raymond.4. Kill Ramsmeat (optional).5. Tell Raymond Ramsmeat is dead. 1. Autopsy (results unimportant)2. Tell Raymond Ramsmeat is dead.CEMETARY CRYPT:Before having done the autopsy, if you have cleared either Thaler or Vincent's name *and* told them they were cleared, the gravedigger will give you an option to get into the cemetary. If Coleman is dead making it impossible to clear Vincent or Vincent hates you and won't help you because you previously accused him, you can always still clear Thaler's name using the methods of 11.4. If you have already done the autopsy and found Raymond guilty, this will automatically clear both Vincent and Thaler. You can also use this proof of innocence to unlock the crypt option with the gravedigger.If you are going to the crypt after the autopsy, there is an additional method of clearing Thaler’s name. After the autopsy, go to Shani's house and ask to help. She will ask you to help throw a party. Get the stuff she needs, go back to Shani's and then go invite one of Zoltan, Carmen or Sigfried. Complete this quest and at the end, she will relay a story about Thaler. This will be enough to clear his name. Whichever method you use, clearing Thaler or Vincent before or after the autopsy will get you into the cemetery Ask the gravedigger how to get into the cemetary and he will tell you you need papers from the Guard or you can pay off his debt to Thaler. Either go to Vincent and ask for these papers or go to Thaler and pay the gatekeeper's debt. Go into the crypt and discover the real truth about Raymond. You have now found everyone else innocent and can go around telling them of their innocence.AUTOPSY:Go to the hospital at midnight and perform the autopsy with Shani. Who you find guilty and your dialogue choices will depend on your previous actions. The only real branches of the dialogue are the ones that involve (1) a Dagger (2) his Head/Hands or (3) his Neck.- Dagger: If you choose dagger, there are options for you to find either Ramsmeat or Kalkstein guilty. Pick one or the other.- Head/Hands: This option won't be available if you did not talk to Vincent while gathering autopsy info. If you choose head/hands, you will find Kalkstein guilty.- Neck: If you choose neck, one of two things can happen. If you read the insect book or talked to the gardener, you will be given two choices (1) "it can't be this easy" or (2) "can we confirm". If you did not read the book / talk to the gardener, the game will automatically be directed to (2). In scenario (1), you will find Raymond guilty. Finding Raymond guilty will automatically make everyone else innocent. This means that even if you had not previously found Vincent or Thaler innocent, you can do so now, get the appropriate dialogue options from the gravedigger and go into the cemetary. In scenario (2), you will find Kalkstein guilty.If you do the autopsy after having visited the cemetery crypt, the autopsy will not be used to determine guilt, but will be used to reveal how Raymond did it.TALKING TO RAYMOND:When you return to Raymond to tell him your findings, a couple of different things can happen.If you have already determined Raymond’s guilt either by having gone into the crypt or by doing the autopsy, Raymond will tell you that Ramsmeat needs to be killed. Since you know that Rayond is the real culprit, you are not required to kill Ramsmeat to advance the quest. You can just lie to Raymond and tell him you killed Ramsmeat even if you didn’t. You could also kill Ramsmeat just for the loot and experience. But this is optional.If you have determined that Kalkstein or Raymond are guilty, Raymond will tell you that Kalkstein and Ramsmeat have been working together and to kill Ramsmeat. You can either choose to kill Ramsmeat or you can go to the cemetery and determine the real truth. If you go to the cemetery crypt, killing Ramsmeat is no longer mandatory and you now have the option to lie to Raymond about killing Ramsmeat. Note that if you have absolutely no ability to enter Ramsmeat's house because his bodyguards are dead, won't respawn and you've lost the key to his house, you will have to enter the crypt. KILLING RAMSMEAT:Ramsmeat's home is in the slums. To get in, you can either bribe the guards or kill the guards and get the key. Talk to Ramsmeat and then kill him. He will call in about 8+ bodyguards so be forewarned. Ramsmeat will have 800+ gold pieces and a yellow meteorite in his loot. TELL RAYMOND RAMSMEAT IS DEAD:Go back to Raymond and tell him you killed Ramsmeat (maybe you did or maybe you didn't).Part C: Post-Autopsy/Cemetary------------------------------------------The investigation is pretty much complete. You can go around telling everyone they are innocent and tidy up loose ends. The rest is just unlocking the mage tower which will be briefly described. You must now collect the 10 Sephirot and place them in the corresponding monolith in the swamps. Kalkstein gave you one of the Sephirot. The other 9 are:- Tipperath: Buy this from Declan Leuvaarden.- Kezath: Do a task for Vaska in the swamps. Clear the pits of the drowners. - Maal'kad: You should have this one already having killed the cockatrice in the sewers. - Veen'ah, Ghe'vrath, Oth: You get this from the statue in the hospital. Place a fruit in it. - Y'esath: In the swamp cave, near the south. The cave is full of wolves. - Neh'tza: Tower Sentry. Go to the area in the swamps with the golems. Look around. Talk to Kaska. She will give you the "Tower Sentry" quest. Then go back to Kalkstein. He will tell you to get a lightning rod. Go to a blacksmith and have him make you one. Go to the druids and ask the elder druid to start a lightning storm. Pay him. Go to the golem area and place the lightning rod on the golem and it will come alive. Use the pillars to summon lightning. Do this 3-4 times and the golem will die and the Neh'tza will be in the loot - Keth'aar: You should have received this from Raymond when you completed the investigation.Once the tower is open, go in, get the book, come out and you will be at the final battle of Act II with Azar Javed and the Professor.

Thanks man, this really helped out. I had found Head/hand and Kalstein Guilty, I DID had to kill the Kingping. Thinking kalstin was guilty is absurd, even more, The option of getting the key form the grave digger had dissapeared since both vincent and Thaler got automatically proven innocent after Kalstein got accused.

I'm on my 2nd play-through the game and am trying to get the items and experience from fighting Ramsmeat (but mostly for the Yellow Meteorite). In addition to this I was hoping to also resolve the issue of the false Raymond before heading to the Tower and not have Kalkstein hate me. Looks like you cannot have your cake and eat it too... :(I highlighted in red that which I have found to be NOT true at all. In every instance of playing through those particular scenarios, killing Ramsmeat is never an option. He is green circle and cannot be harmed or provoked into a fight. The only way to kill Ramsmeat is finding either Ramsmeat or Kalkstein guilty by way of autopsy...and not finding Raymonds body in the crypt of course. Geralt must be convinced in his guilt without any contrary evidence.If anyone has ever actually seen the dialogue choices when talking with Ramsmeat in which you can either kill him or not, then I would love to hear or see how you did it! UPDATE: Okay I finally found a way to kill Ramsmeat AND reveal the false Raymond before he leaves to the Tower. This is how it worked for me (ver 1.2);1. Perform autopsy and find Kalkstein guilty2. This will update Ramsmeat as innocent so head over to him and give him the good news (important, the 'suspect Ramsmeat' quest needs to finish)3. See Raymond and he'll say you need to kill Ramsmeat (because you found Kalkstein guilty)4. Head to crypts and find Raymonds body. Since the 'suspect Ramsmeat' quest is done and can't be updated anymore he'll still be blue circle. Several other quests should update here and be able to complete such as 'suspect Thaler', etc.5. Head back over to Ramsmeat's house, kill the guards out front, enter and attack Ramsmeat. He actually contains no real dialogue to start a fight, he's just blue circle so you can attack him... loot (yellow meteorite, gold,etc.)6. Now head over to Kalkstein and you'll interestingly be given the option to say you believe he is absolutely guilty or that Azar Javed is Raymond, etc. Pick the later...quest "Suspect Kalkstein" will finish with him being innocent.7. Head on back to Azar Javed and play out the scenario of him being the last to know he's been exposed and that you'll meet him at the swamp tower.8. Time to wrap up all the loose quests, put extra items in storage and then finally to the swamps for the showdown.This method gave me the most experience because I was able to complete every quest and get Ramsmeat. If someone finds another way, please post it! :)
